my friend told me about this so searched and actually found something. Have any other locals heard anything of it? is anyone close enough to cruise over and take a look, apparently its not finshed built yet but there might be a sign

Seems they have not even broken ground yet but I hope I am wrong. I watched the vids they have on their website and they mentioned they wanted to break ground int he spring but there is no formal announcement on the website saying that so it probably has not happened yet.

GOOGLE earth still shows farmland but obviously it is not up to date.

Having had our share of completed A to Z to left to rot due to no funding private tracks here in Texas you have 3 major (i.e. big $$$$) milestones you've got to reach in order to get a track built.

1) Buying the land to include getting the okay from all the various govt bureaucracies saying it's okay to drive around in circles and make loud noises.

2A) Dirt Work started - Should things peter out at this stage you generally at least end up with a bitching rally cross course.
2B) Dirt Work completed - You would be amazed at what it costs to build a proper road bed.

3A) Paving Started - One of our completed tracks started paving and had to stop. Almost two years later finished paving. (And still had paving issues for the first year or two after the track opened.)
3B) Paving Finished - Makes the expense of the dirt work look negligible.

Once paving is done you really can start operating the track with nothing more than a double wide trailer sitting on a concrete slab. All other amenities can be completed at leisure.

Hopefully yall's track makes. New tracks are always fun. We've grown super spoiled in N. Texas. 9 tracks now with in 4 hours of DFW metroplex!

This has been in the works for years! I really hope it does in fact get built, it would be only about 15 minutes from my house!!!! Rumor has it that the borough & residents have been fighting it like crazy though. The land is supposedly owned by the people that want to build the track already, but they have been battling for the permits needed to begin construction. Time will tell. I remember like 2 years ago the guy that wants to build the track basically said that he has the funds to continue to you fight the borough & residents in the court system until they run out of cash to keep fighting him! So who knows.

I just find it funny how it was/is like a secret, you would think the guy would try to get as much support from fellow locals. Isnt it more of a numbers game? If more people want the track the better it would look in the borough's eyes? look at the turnout of cars in the little cruise.

since your pretty close mind swinging over there to check it out? or try talking to someone who knows?

It looks like a awesome track something this area needs!

I hope this gets built. Im about two hours from there but would deffinitely take a trip down. Theres no tracks by me anyhow.

I'm not exactly sure where to go or who to talk to though. Where the track is possibly being built is just a field currently. Nothing has been done so far. I will see what I can find out though.

This was their last update on their facebook page (October 2, 2012): "Hi All, it's been a few weeks since we've posted up about progress, so here's the update. We've been moving forward relentlessly and are internally ready to break ground, the hold up comes with both local and federal governmental agencies. Unfortunately the process can be a slow and arduous one that we have no control over. Rest assured, we are very excited about the facility and hoping we can announce something soon. There have been very many leaps forward we've made recently, but not yet the big one you, and all of us, are waiting for. Thanks for your support and can't wait to be running some hot laps with you all!"


Isn't Pocono Raceway some what near you?? They do track days there (years ago when I had an Eagle Talon, I ran it there once).

Nobody ever wants a track in their backyard. Even I would want peace and quiet. Building a track is about striking a perfect balance between staying close to those who will pay to use it (mostly city and suburbanites) and finding a place where they'll let you break ground.

Even long historied tracks suffer when suburban development grows around them. As crazy as it sounds, even Laguna Seca is on noise lockdown from idiots who moved in next to it long after the track was there.
