Toys For Tots Meet 2018

This is something that I have been wanting to put together for a few years now but, never got around to it. I donate every year as well as donate to the Salvation Army's Angel gift collection. Christmas has always been a time when I mostly think about families that are in unfortunate circumstances and hate to think of any child that goes without during the holiday season. To think of a child waking up on Christmas morning only to find that there isn't anything under the tree to open is absolutely devastating. I couldn't imagine being a parent that has to look at my child's face and tell them "Sorry, I/ we couldn't afford it". Some of you might feel differently or feel that its the parents to blame but, at the end of the day the child isn't to blame and sometimes families just fall on hard times. Christmas is a time for giving and a time to put all judgment aside for the sake of the children in need of a happy holiday.

That being said I'm calling out to all hands in the northeast forum to help me put together this event. I figured we could all spread the word by any means necessary and make this an annual event that not only brings the auto enthusiast community together but, also gives back to the community as well.

This proposed event will be on December 1st and in the traditional Toys For Tots fashion where all you need to bring is at least one brand new unwrapped toy to donate PER VEHICLE to the Marine who will be at the event. I have contacted Toys For Tots and they've told me that they'd be more than happy to attend the event and to get in touch with them as soon as I have a venue. I know that there will be people that show up to the event without a donation but, I am hoping that will be a small percentage. I do plan on having stickers made up to hand out to all attendees that come with a donation.

I'm currently looking at this event being held at Raceway Park in New Jersey but, am open to other suggestions.

So I haven't gotten much of a reply here on the forum regarding this Toys For Tots event but, that hasn't swayed me from organizing it anyway. Since my original post I've secured the venue which will be at Englishtown Raceway park and I've gotten the event approved by the Toys For Tots Foundation who will be providing Two Marines that will be there to accept all of the donated Toys as well as any monetary donations. I've posted the event on Eventbrite and the tickets are free and just a way for me to gauge how many attendees might be present. It will be taking place on the 1st of December without a foul weather date so, I'm just hoping the weather is decent. There will be at least one food truck on site and I am trying to book another one but, we'll see. I have been in touch with a tuner with a mobile dyno and awaiting an answer back to find out if they would want to join as well. Even though this thread hasn't gained much traction, I hope the community can come together for a good cause as well as a good time for the holidays.

I think this is a great idea. I won't be able to make it, but I hope it gets a lot of local attention.

Thanks! a lot of thought has been put into the event so far. It's the first one so, I don't expect the outcome to be outstanding but, so far its looking pretty good.

Thanks! We appreciate the support. The more the better. I tried to make it as centrally located as possible that way more people can make it out.

Oh yeah!! Two more rotary heads added to the mix! Your support is greatly appreciated. I'm glad this event is gaining some good traction. We just picked up another food truck and have a few other logistical things to work out but, it's looking like the turnout is going to be good. If you guys want to help spread the word please be my guest. The more the merrier and the more donations the better. The new flyer is below so, just save the image and share wherever you like. This is a family event so, don't hesitate to spread the word to friends and family.
