Simple Question about Exhaust Bolts
Hey guys i put in my catback exhaust system from Racing Beat earlier this year with the help of ANIL (kaot1k). I had to use the old nasty ass bolts where the ypipe and cats meet. I left it like that becuase its holding up there.
But now i got the Racing Beat Header and Presilencer and i wanted to use new bolts for the Header to presilencer and between silencer and catback. I ordered all new gaskets from Racing Beat but i really want the new bolts. I know autozone wont have them cuz i use to work there and i know how shitty there selection is. ANy recommendations. Also what grade and size are the bolts so i can search some internet sites Thanks Jason NYC |
Home Depot. They have all sizes, washers, lock washers etc.....
Get the car ready for Sunday, you better be there, car or not! Anthony

goto home depot and buy some grade 8 bolts and nuts . they wont rust out on you and are the strongest bolts you can get.

I agree on HD. Racing beat does sell the bolts, if you want to go that route.

the thread shouldn't matter, if you buy the bolt and nut at the same time and it fits at the store, slide the bolt through the flange, put on the nut (and a lockwasher for good measure, exhausts tend to vibrate...) and you're done.
If you call racing beat and you're nice to them, you can probably just buy their bolts, which are very high quality. I've had my RB turbo back for two years and the bolts don't rust, I've taken the exhaust apart about 10 times for different types of work and they all come off easy and stay torqued when I put the wrench on 'em. |
Also when i put the RB header do i need Racing Beat hardware to eliminate the ACV
|
Make sure to use some thread lock!

You can use anyones Emisssions block off plates 2571 makes good block off plates... or was it 2751... I can't remember. I don't know why you'd want to remove the ACV, you kinda need it to open your 5/6th ports. |
