Kenny,
Those look great. In you DVA post, you said stuff about stripping the original powder - what had happened to it? I was under the impression that powdercoating was rather permenant.
Anywho, I need to get off my ass and finish bead blasting my AC Schnitzers and get them to you sometime.....

Signed. I thought I was the only one who thought they played 18 hours of nascar, 4 hours of commercials, then 2 hours of everything else.

All signatures appreciated....I'm sure it won't do a damn bit of good, but at least it helps me vent.

Sup fellers? Hope everyone is doing well; I haven't been on here in a while.

Anyone racing this year?

The GTU is ready, but I'm working on getting it to the track (truck & trailer). I can't go another year like last year with hardly any track time.

As far as work, I've picked up a position of less stress, but I travel all over the state, so I'm gone most of the week. If I play my cards right, I'll be at more track events, in whatever car I can get there.

Check the VMSC forums and you'll see VMP may or may not be available THIS YEAR. Jon Felton has found a pretty good new site AND so consequently I belong to both NASA and VMSC this year. I'm looking forward to running NASA's event on Feb 18th at VIR.

I sure Delta V or Mitchum Enterprises could. My roomate has a compression tester for a 13B, I don't know if that would fit a 12A though. If it does you'd be more than welcome to drop by some night or weekend.

I think more information means year, make, model, options and a description of what kind of shape the car is in.

If there aren't any VMP events, they don't have much.

I wish it was like the old days, VMP, southside speedway, and even Chesterfield was decent although I bitched about it all the time.

I'd like to say I'll be going to more track days anyway, but between the stress on the equipment and the $300 entry fee, I can't afford $800-$1000 per weekend.

lovintha7 02-05-06 10:44 AM

Just want to let you guys know, I'm selling a RB SP exhaust system for $550 with less than 15k miles on it. Can't use it with the turbo project, so I've gotta sell it. Fits a 12A, so first gen only. Includes Header, MP, and Power Pulse muffler....it's the entire system.

Thanks,

Bryan

I had looked at the actual expenses of tracking a car and it's definetly out of my reach as well - at least on regular basis.
VMP has not been definetly lost and Jon Felton has locked in a new venue for a few events.

afterburn27 02-06-06 10:00 AM

You can work track events for NASA and earn free track time. That way you'll only be paying for brakes, tires, and stuff that breaks. :)

Yeah I remembered you had mentioned that right after I posted and it's definetly something I'll be considering. I have to see how the autoX season shapes up this year and how my finances go. I was dropping my car off today at Richard Mitchums for some pre-race tweaking for next weekend and he mentioned he's got a couple of 7's he rents out for NASA's 7 challenge.

afterburn27 02-06-06 05:37 PM

Yup, work two weekends and get one free track weekend. It is a good deal for people like me who enjoy being at the track anyway, even if I'm not driving. I'll be at VIR in two weekends for flag training. :)

It would be much easier, not to mention cheaper just to buy a TII motor & drivetrain and switch it over. But, good luck to you if you choose to go that route. A good person to talk to would be Aaron Cake.

You could probably just email him, but I would first read everything he has posted on the subject of turboing an NA. Then email him with some pertenant questions, this isn't like turboing other cars. The cheapest way would probably be to go with a kit from Greddy, HKS, or someone like that and build a standalone ECU and run on low boost. Anything over 200rwhp on an NA and things are gonna start breaking.
The better (and hence more expensive way) is to do a full TII swap or if you have REALLY deep pockets drop an LS1 in there.
