Hmmm... I might come out on Sunday, I'll be home for the week. I can't auto-x though... need new swaybar mounts and a battery tie-down.

DavidR 11-15-04 08:19 PM

Don't worry, I'm sure others will not be autox either; including myself. We will have fun anyway (hell I will not even have a 7).

onepointone 11-15-04 09:54 PM

i try to be there by 8:30-9 (we get some food, and walk to course a couple times)

im running this sunday and next sunday at the nasa event.

david - i think i remember you saying you live the highlands? if so thats only about 10 minutes away from me. if you ever need help with the turbo install, or anything of that nature, let me know. id love to see it go together, or atleast peices of it go together.

niburu 11-16-04 07:38 AM

Anyone have an inside drivers side door handle they might wanna part with? ($$)
the 15 year old Japanese plastic self destructed last weekend about the same time my FTP lense jumped ship.

angrycamel 11-16-04 01:55 PM

Where is the autox event you guys are talking about?

I got my car back from DeltaV last night. So I am ready to take it somewhere.

niburu 11-16-04 02:07 PM

It's at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) down in Dinwiddie
check www.vmsc.org for details
It is full right now but there is almost always last minute cancellations.
Has anyone here ever been turned away?
the next event is going to be Dec. 5th

angrycamel 11-16-04 03:26 PM

Ok, thanks. I have never done any racing before so not sure I will be doing it, but can you attend as a spectator to just meet you guys?

niburu 11-16-04 03:57 PM

Yes, spectators are quite welcome, it's free, but you will need to sign an insurance waiver.
I watched probably half a dozen events before I joined.
It's worth going just to see some of the cars that show up.
There is a few open wheel race cars that show up occasionally.

angrycamel 11-16-04 04:06 PM

Kool... I went to a couple of the Hot Import Night events there this summer. They had the drifting course and a good assortment of cars on the stip. That was ten bucks so if this is free then great. Count me in ;)

DavidR 11-16-04 07:04 PM

It will be nice to meet you angrycamel, along with all the other members I haven't met yet.

1.1- Sounds good, once I get all of the parts I need and some time I will let you know. I still have quite a bit of work to do.

brianmcd 11-17-04 01:34 PM

hope everyone can make it out. I'll be there sunday. Can't wait to autox on the flts, w00t.

awesome. i want to get under the hood of an fd. im thinking this summer i might be in the market for one. brian kinda scared me a bit. im afraid to get one and it be a money pit (ie: motor going on me or something of that nature). id just like poke around/watch someone poke around to see what its like in there and how different it is from my first gen.

angrycamel 11-17-04 10:35 PM

Well, be prepared if you get an FD. They are very picky cars. I drive mine about 10% of the time and work on it about 90% of the time. Its totally worth it though, as most FD owners will tell you.

Some are better than others, and there is a long list of things to check out when considering purchasing one from someone. I am sure all of us FD owners can chip in and help out if you have questions. I'd be willing to bet that you have probly done a a good bit of the homework yourself already, especially since you are familiar with the rumors of the cars nature.

There is an FD for sale in Richmond with 50k miles all original etc etc... Jeff at DeltaV was telling me about it. If I remember correctly its for sale for about 14 or 15 thousand.

DavidR 11-18-04 07:02 PM

I plan on getting in Dinwiddie around noon, will I miss everything? should I come earlier?

brianmcd 11-18-04 08:15 PM

First car off is at noon I think, so you shouldn't miss any of the racing.

Mike: lol didn't mean to scare you. Like AC said, there is supposedly an immaculate 3rd gen for sale for like 14-15k. Delta V has info on it (355-4440). The guy who owns it owns an old mr2, an evo, and some other car (infiniti maybe), so he's selling the rx7 because the evo is his fun car now. Apparently the car was cared for extremely well and not driven very hard. If you want more info call delta v and ask for jeff, then ask him about it. There is a flyer on the bulletin board at the shop about it.

I'll plan to get to the track around 12 then as well. See you guys on the 5th!

calvin 11-19-04 02:15 PM

I have pre-registered for the 11/28 NASA event. I hope I don't have to cancel this one. I an running on 11/21 at ACU4 in Va Beach, but I will finally make the trip up to Richmond for the first time this year.

5th? I thought people were coming to the one this weekend? I know I'll be at both either way.

angrycamel 11-19-04 07:41 PM

All this time I thought you guys were talking about the one on the fifth! Hmmm, well then, not so sure about this Sunday.

brianmcd 11-19-04 08:30 PM

Maybe they were? I dunno, I was thinking they meant this weekend but maybe not :? David?

Congrats on the new job, since your at a fortune 500 company does that mean you can start fabricating parts for us???:bigthumb:

I think I'm gonna go for the A4. I can pay it off in a year, it's 4wd (I will need it, since I have to be at work when it snows: trucks gotta run everyday!), and I'll have money to work on the GTU. The S4 is definately a possibility, but I don't feel like spending an extra 8 grand, about what I need to finish the GTU.

I don't know if I can fabricate parts for you, but I can make sure your package doesn't get stuck in richmond if you mail order fabricated parts. :)

On that note, please double box packages full of loose screws and stuff. They fall out and make my mechanics have to do more work. :/

angrycamel 11-21-04 09:43 AM

Well I guess we will just have to wait and see if anyone else is comming today. I plan on heading down there. Its at VMSP right? Anyone who plans to meet can feel free to call me up on the cell 301.2079

brianmcd 11-21-04 09:48 AM

I know Zach and Mike will be there for sure. I found out yesterday that my front right dampener is broken, so I'm not racing today. I might go down there in a couple of hours though.

Damn Brian, you missed a bad ass course! Lots of room to hang out the ass end!
