Redline Synthetic lube dealers in MD/DE

Subject is the question -- I'm looking for a Redline dealer near the Elkton MD / Newark DE area where I can buy a few quarts of MT-90 gear lube for my '89T2.

BTW, I know I can get this stuff online, but most places charge ridiculous shipping fees because they consider this stuff a HAZMAT - would much rather purchase locally for the 3 quarts I need.

Thanks!

NEO > Redline

I'm sticking with Redline MT-90 because I've already had about 30K flawless miles running this stuff on my 89T2. When I purchased the car in 1999, the tranny most likely had the original gear lube in it. The Redline MT-90, along with replacement of the shifter bushings, solved ALL of my tranny problems (i.e., notchy shift to 2nd, floppy shifter, hard shifting when cold) So I'm going to stick with MT-90.

My take is that any high quality synthetic gear lube will work well in the RX-7.

I agree that performance wise, any high quality syn gear lube will be about identical. But I'm still a big believer in GL-4 - it's easier on the synchros chemically and mechanically. Transmissions have no need for GL-5 EP levels.

So that's why I choose the Amsoil ATG or Redline MT-90. Second best would be Neo or Royal Purple.

Call around the local auto parts store - maybe someone stocks one of these brands. Or maybe you can get in touch with an "Amsoil Dealer" lol and they might have a few qts on hand for you.

Not sure where you are at but there is place in parkville right on joppa road in a very inconspicuous building. Infact the only way you can tell it's not a residential house is by the fact that it has a small Redline advertisement in the window.

It's right on Joppa across from the lovedones "adult toystore" (don't ask :squint: )

It's right around oak summit drive I believe, before Harford road. but after walther blvd on the north side of the road.

I can't even remember the name of the place, it's a white "House" with a redline banner in the window.

Thanks -- That's not close to home, but it's not too far from where I work at APG

Hrm, You may have seen my car on base before, but I'm rarely there during the week. I work for the DOIM.

Same car in sig, however now stock white t2 hood, and black front bumper with a huge FMIC

Never knew that was your T2 on base. I work on APG too. Hey Pete this is the guy from the gym with the 1st gen RX-7.

I agree with Dave. I have tried all of them, Redline, NEO, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, BG Synchroshift, and even our Audi gear oil which a gl4 non synthetic, and AMSOIL MTG 75W90 GL-4 synthetic gear oil is hands down the best. It made a noticable difference in cold and hot shifting, smoother shifting when cold, and butter smooth when hot. It wont help if you have broken blocker rings or worn down really bad, but it does make a difference over the other lubes that I have tried.
