Potential RX7 owner in Richmond, Va
Hello,
Well, as of now I drive a 1988 Volvo 245. But, ever since I've seen a few RX7s at the Starbucks on Hugenot, I have wanted one. I've had a wanted one and have had a soft spot for them for a while now. I've always like both 2nd and 3rd generations. I probably won't pick one up until I'm out of school, so I'm just reading more about them and thought I would ask a few questions. Basically, how are they reliability-wise? I would drive it daily, however, I don't plan on abusing it lol. Also, what are they like to work on? With the Volvo, there is plenty of space in the engine bay to move around and you don't have to take the entire engine apart just to change a spark plug. Are RX7s the same way? Thanks! |

try here, for the local gang of rotards
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...43677&page=200 Every Friday night there is a meetup at that Starbucks, stop by and say high there is usually a couple of 7's there. I won't be able to make it for the next 3 weekends but usually someone shows. The non-turbo second gen ones are fairly easy to own, btw. |

Yea, I used to go quite a bit over the summer, but have stopped due to school and the weather getting colder. And if you don't mind me asking, which do you drive?
Also over the summer in addition to that car I had a 98 240sx and before that had an FD and still have a '90 Miata. I also recently picked up a white 91' FC with a carbon fiber hood. |

Thanks! if you look on the forum, some peoples sig's have some of the major problems they have encountered....one guy wrote that he wouldnt be surprised if oil came out of the tires heres a good example...i was driving to my gf house, when all of a sudden all my idiot lights go on, and my volt meter goes dead...you no what happened? my alternator belt thast been on the car for a month snaped. i swear these cars are alive 2nd gens tend to be more reliable than 3rd gens(still not sure why, maybe its a rumor) but second gens can most definatly be found for 1/8 the price of a good 3rd gen, got mine for a grand. and for your last question......if you thought your volvo had engine bay room....you aint seen nothing yet |
