I think a comprehensive list of TUNERS in the Northeast should be a sticky in the NE Region Section of RX7club. This should be explicitly different than the list of general mechanics found here: https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum-30/list-all-mechanics-ne-area-137694/. Ideally it should include the following information: Shop Name, Contact Name, Address, Phone, Email, Years Experience /Business Age, Dyno On-Site (y/n) of reputable tuning shops that specialize in RX7's. The first two I mentioned are two very reputable shops I have discovered through research (not experience, yet).

I know there are more, but I am having trouble determining if the owners of some not-so-reputable-shops are posting up there shop's information just to get the one-time business at the expensive of our 13B motors. I would like to see customer recommended shops only, and not advertising or promotion. Please add your most highly recommended northeast RX7 Tuner to this thread (please limit extraneous commentary) and include the following:

Name:
Contact Name:
Address:
Phone:
Email:
Years/Age:
Dyno On-Site (Yes/No):

kerran (sp) does good work up at Victor Research in East Harford, CT. He doesn't actually work there, but they will give you his number to call him personally. I haven't yet had him dyno my car, but I've heard good things about him. He does a street tune at night and then puts it on the dyno at VR to tweek it out. He quoted me at $400 last I spoke with him.

I think you mean Kahren. That's also his user name on the forum.

I'll post a couple that I have had personal experience with.

Enzo Racing - Long Island NY
Enzo
http://www.enzo-racing.com/
He tunes a lot of computers as well.
They have an inhouse dyno dynamics dyno.

Waynespeed
Wayne
http://www.waynespeed.com
He specializes with the Wolf Ecu but tunes others as well.
He does not have a dyno or a shop, he is a tuner.

Absolutely impeccable work. Meticulous. Highly competent tuning. They are also (one of the only?) installers of Pettit Racing's engines. They've tuned my PFC flawlessly.

UPDATE: These guys are getting their own Dynocom AWD dyno installed now!

Update: Synaptic3 has a dyno now and will be doing dyno tuning. I can also attest to their work, and like Cernese said, they are very thorough in their build process and have good attention to detail. Great guys, too. Down to earth, enthusiastic, and full of great information.

Dave at KDR is also a great tuner and a stand up guy. I would highly recommend him, as well. Well worth the trip and tuning at a great price.

does anyone know if any of these shops can tune the rtek 2.1 upgrade with a pocket logger? or do you need to go with a full power fc upgrade?

I've had my Rtek tuned at KDR. You need to provide the PDA though.

Give them a shout, they might have one these days.

I will also stand up and say that synaptic3 is a great place. I have never personally been there, but Dana has tuned my car on several occasions, has come to me to help me out when I needed it and been a great guy overall. 100% stand-up, great people to deal with, and will go incredible work. Now if I can only get him a car that doesnt have stupid little issues we will be fine (should have kept my apexi turbo kit after it was tuned)

Anyone have any comments of PFS over KDR or vise versa? Never dealt with PFS, but they are much closer to me. I've dealt with KDR in the past, and although I heard some stories had a great experience.

I'm sure either PFS or KDR will treat your car right, but I have not had personal experience with PFS. I know KDR will treat your car right though.

I just noticed the "comments are welcome part"

I have used Waynespeed a few times now, slightly different set ups in my car and updating my Wolf from a v3 to a v500.

Wayne is a absolute gentleman and a professional to deal with. He is always on time and nothing but courteous to you, always answering your phone calls and emails- even if your a dummy like I am and you might feel like you are asking too many questions he always takes the time to answer you. I did not even buy my Wolf from him and he was nothing but gracious to me.

Tuning with him is all business, I chose for him to tune on a dyno and it was on the queens border at L&T. But more importantly was that he came to the location we were building the car and loaded a start up and quick drive map so that the car could get going. After dyno tuning he did a few street runs whenever I asked him because the car starting and running as if it was a factory car was VERY important to me. We added AC to the car later and again he came to the car to tune in the IAC motor and perfected the car's cold start during a brutal cold spell as the initial tune was in the dog days of summer.

Here are my personal expieriences.
Ive been working with tony at T and R Racing in queens for the last few months. He has been tuning my Haltech PS 1000 the car is awsome. They're all real nice there.
Ive actually met Wayne of Waynespeed at T and R, he came and got one of the T and R techs full brudged huge turbo cars up and running. Im pretty sure he does all the Wolf tuning for them, like Rob said he is also a really nice guy.
I have also worked with Enzo while I was running my PFC, had the car towed there. Im from Jersey, soo its not like im right down the street. He was in a rush and I felt didnt have enough time for me and kinda pushed me out, after expieriencing a few problems with my injectors leaking under boost. He said he had a boat to tune and left me driving home with leaking injectors and and awful/dangerous base map as per Chuck Westbrook and other reputible sources. Ive heard alot of great things about Enzo, thats why I chose him, but did not have the same expierience as others.
He charged me 400 dollars to tune the vehicle for me to come home and load a free base map from Chuck Westbrook that allowed the car to run a million times better and Chuck never saw my car or dynod it like enzo did.
Heres the link to a thread I started
https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/new-map-help-798208/
I also have emails from Chuck with the revised maps he sent me stating enzos tune was awful/dangerous.
So I opted to go to Tony and have a haltech installed and tuned its been the best choice yet.
any questions feel free to ask.
James
