If you need a ride, (MD BBQ and Game Tourny?) just PM me your addy and cell #.

muythaibxr 01-27-05 08:59 AM

ouch... I got an idea.... don't speed more than you think you can get away with if you get caught :-P

Oh yeah, the 1984 and on test is the treadmill test for emissions, before that they just let u sit there and take your idle emissions and then you rev (in neutral) to like 2000 rpms, and they read the emissions again. Thats what they did when I had my old 1983 buick regal (like 6 years ago).

Oh yeah, how long does it normally take them to send you emissions papers. I've had the ae86 registered since june, and I still haven't gotten a notice.

AkumaKuruma 01-27-05 09:20 AM

its random as far as i know. my pickup was almost 2 YEARS...supra was 4 months.
also you can go at any time and get it tested and it will start the 2 year period from then.

Tofuball 01-27-05 09:24 AM

Depends when the last emissions test was done.

GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKER.
I've ordered Brake rotors 3 times in the past two weeks and no one has them. Now MY temp tag is about to expire and I need brakes to pass. (not too safe with the old ones either). So now I'm going to have to go get my front rotors turned, I have good new brake pads... so I guess I'll put those on in the front.

What a damn shame. I'm so mad. I could have had nice new slotted/crossdrilled rotors all around. damnit damnit damnit. Now I just need to make sure everything else gets here on time for me to take my t2 to TN to get the new engine in. Fuckin a.

Dude!!! about ya brakes... if you ever in the Essex area... go to Advance autoparts by MVA... there is a lil garage spot that will get you rotors in a matter of hours!!! and they'll take care of everything right then and there... i advise you to get there like 8-9am... to be the first one seen.. since its on a first come first serve bases..

muythaibxr 01-27-05 10:07 AM

f1bluerx7: have you looked at tirerack? I've had good luck getting parts REALLY fast from them. They're not the cheapest all the time, but usually when I order stuff from there, I get it the next day, or at the latest 2 days.

DarkAngelKamui 01-27-05 10:09 AM

Ditto, got my KYB AGXs from tirerack.com too... pretty damn good service, if you ask me.... :D

i gotta get some new shocks and springs for the front of the FC... that iron motor is a smidge heavier than the LS1 goin in joey's FD

are these shocks any good?

DarkAngelKamui 01-27-05 11:56 AM

Yeah... i'd have to say Eibach Pro springs and AGX adjustables are awesome... lol, even if I couldn't fully say because some asshat installed them wrong, I still liked the feel of them

Edit: To give more info, the fronts are 4 way adjustable and the rears are 8 way

AkumaKuruma 01-27-05 12:01 PM

i got koni golds on my car (adjustable but you gotta take them off to change it) with eibach pro sport springs. i like sport suspensions :-p

muythaibxr 01-27-05 12:13 PM

yeah, I had eibach pro-kit and kyb gr2 struts (they didn't make agx for that car) on my old car.... when I put those on there it was like buying a completely different car.... it handled so much better.

neptuneRX 01-27-05 12:24 PM

anyone know of someone trying to sell a excellent condition S5 TII in MD, VA spending cap looks like 3-4k though. PM me

sudseh 01-27-05 12:45 PM

Another setup that is good, at least on jettas, is Apex-I springs (the 2.5"lowering kind) and bilstein non-adjustable shocks. The ride in my old jetta was still very composed over harsh surfaces, and on smooth highways, the car felt rock solid to 120 (fastest I ever drove).
