Emissions in Northern VA

I recently moved to Ashburn, VA (Loudoun County) from Tampa, Florida. My car has been in PFSupercars getting worked on for a few months and my Florida Tags expired. Now that I need to register the car in VA can someone message me a friendly place to get my modified FD inspected?

Thanks

Jon,

Welcome to Ashburn! Now that you moved in, there should be 3 or 4 of us FD owners here.

In regards to your emissions issue.....you could very well be f'ed. I can tell you that when mine failed a couple of years ago I had no luck in finding a "friendly" shop to pass me. But I did however have family in another county that does not require emissions testing....hint hint.

As far as state inspections go, I always take mine to PBC automotive in Chantilly, just off of routes 50 and 28. They got their start in Spec Miatas I believe. The owners have changed hands, but the current one has an FD, for what it is worth. Seems like a nice guy. I think you might find that getting the car inspected will be the least of your worries, as most of these mechanics have no idea what they are looking at, so just move on to the standard safety check list.

I wish I could be more help to you on the emissions, other than finding a relative or close friend who will let you "garage" the car at their address in a non-emissions county. Maybe a few others that live in the area will chime in and point you in the right direction.

Oh and if you haven't already, check out the Dulles Chik-fil-A thread. We'd love to have another FD added to the roster out there.

Hope to see you around!

Mike
