I'm still in... Don't think the car will be ready though, waiting on some fittings and a set of injectors!

EDIT: TOP

Molotovman 04-07-14 04:15 PM

I've got a friend who is supposed to be riding with me, if he can't go I'll have room for a passenger. I'll try to hammer it down by Wednesday and let you all know.

Molotovman 04-07-14 08:10 PM

My friend is definitely riding with me. We're going to meet up at the end of breakfast!

My replacement trans had a broken shift return spring, so I attempted to swap the spring from my original trans and now the replacement trans wont go into 5th or reverse. This is my only hang up right now D:

You don't need 5th gear or reverse really... the car has lots of revs left in 4 on the highway and at the drag strip you'll only get to 3rd :D Also, we can push you back if the car needs to back up or always park on an incline :icon_tup:

Not taking the bike across tue river... Also, newborn and toddler. Couple hours, ok. Whole day... No.

Pele, I was planning on meeting up with the guys after the drag strip. I know you're not keen on bringing the bike to a car cruise, but if you want I can meet you (on bikes or car) in Old Town Alexandria to run through a fun twisty back road blast (my route home from work) that kicks out a couple miles from the bbq spot.

I understand that not everyone is in it for the whole day. That is one of the reasons I tried to give some locations and approximate times in case some people only had an hour or two. Hope to see you for a bit if you have the time. If not, we'll have another in the fall. :icon_tup:

Yeah, I would have loved to meet up with you guys in Columbia, but I'll be in frostburg at a rallycross until late probably :(

Maybe I'll try and meet up with you guys at the columbia ale house depending on what time I get back.

If someone wants to deliver me a S5 N/A transmission crossmember and then help me re-assemble my shitbox I'll meet up tomorrow :)

It's on Sunday so you have a whole extra day to handle it :D

Sorry I have no FC parts. Good luck though.

Get it back together!

I just got my car back together. I changed the BOV, no more compressor surge! The car feels MUCH better.

Elio, are you going to at least make it for part of it?

I'm still planning on arriving at the end of breakfast

Pele, why don't you want to ride in MD?

Not this time, we have a 3 week newborn, and the wife is not able to handle our 2 year daughter by herself (plus the newborn). I am on a no motorcycle, no car work, and worst of all, no sleep diet

Plan on meeting you guys in fall, although I hope that the wife is set by summer, so that I could start attending autoxes

Dang man! That seems like it's how it goes though. Hopefully I'll see you in the fall.

Cars in Maryland aren't required to have mirrors or turn signals and it's against the law to use mirrors or turn signals in Maryland.

I don't want to die. Riding a motorcycle in Maryland is how you die.
I don't go inside or north of the Beltway.

Lol, what do you ride? I agree that Md drivers can be 'tards, but so can Virginia drivers  it's all in where/how you ride.

Really sucks i had to miss this. Sorry guys, i woke up this morning feeling like death.

Molotovman 04-13-14 08:47 PM

Yeah, Justin. You're lame for being sick.

Thanks for the pics, Jack! My wife enjoyed them.

It was a great day and I learned things about my car which was nice. The breaking up I was experiencing was the car hitting 20psi and going pig rich which seemed to make it stumble. On the way home I changed the boost controller setting to the 15psi setting which was opening closer to 17psi and it was running extremely smooth. I would have been better off all day using that, I just know now that I need to adjust the boost controller setting. I also need to install a switch to turn off my e-fan on highway cruising. It was running and slowing down the air flow through the radiator causing the car to heat up. I'd prefer a speed switch, but the car has a cable driven odometer.

The power steering pump also started making horrible noises and the AC doesn't work.

It was a blast, thanks for setting it up Rocky!

Thanks again for coming everyone, Sorry about the GoKarting having such a long wait but I think the cruise through the back roads of MD was better/more fun anyway. We'll have to schedule a meet-up at Allsports GP. The clientele is much more professional there. Thanks for all the pics Jack! Also, I'll try and get that Miata monster picture posted later. But for now:

So much powwaa, look at that front end lift->

You've got the bro-grip going hard, Rocky!

The go-kart place was still a success, watching that girl crash probably made my day.
