street porting template

Does any body here know where I can find the largest street port template for my 13b turbo side housings. I want the most opening and closeing time as posibule with a good sized exhaust port so I will have a lot of over lap for a good lopy idle, and a nice tourqe band starting around 4000 rpm.

sideways-FC 12-24-11 08:49 PM

would mazda trix,or racing beat have a bigger template

fidelity101 12-30-11 01:53 PM

pineapple racing has a good one.

sideways-FC 12-30-11 03:20 PM

yea but all they have is mild templets. I want to go big!

Jibaro 12A 12-30-11 06:05 PM

Judge Ito. I've had very good results with his template (I've used RB and Pineapple) and his by far is my fav.

Our circuit port template is not excessively large, but the largest you would ever want to go. Proven highest documented streetport horsepower.

I would suggest looking through the GG/BG threads on Judge Ito. It seems it takes a long time to get the templates for some and others it happens rather fast.

sideways-FC 01-02-12 02:04 PM

sideways-FC 01-02-12 06:03 PM

I contacted judge and he said they are 100 bucks and there is an aggresive and a not so agressive porting template the none aggresive basicly dosent open the port as early.

Does any body know where I can get the right bits to port with I have looked at lows, and harbor fraight, I am looking for long carbite cuting bits long round stones and sand paper rolls so I can reach those hard to reach places.

rotarycrazy 01-02-12 09:35 PM

good luck none of those places have or can get any. racing beat sells some not 100% if they have the long ones thou. I get my stuff from work they order it form one of the Grainger Industrial Supply.

Eastwood:

I used this set with great success: http://www.eastwood.com/carbide-burr-set-of-four.html

If you feel more comfortable and/or want a long reach set, they have that too: http://www.eastwood.com/long-reach-c...t-4-piece.html

I used the burrs to port the three irons and two exhaust ports and they still look brand new, just as sharp and ready for another porting job.

The Pineapple street port is also pretty aggressive IMO, especially on the primary. I was shocked how much larger they were than stock. All reports I've heard is the Pineapple ports have a nice lope to them.

I like the BDC half bridge myself

sideways-FC 01-04-12 05:44 PM

84stock 01-04-12 09:52 PM

You would have to contact him, or just get the pro to do it personally

pineapple has a large street port for the 13bt, I called him and he stated to order the brew and put in the notes that it is for a 13bt, i also ordered the epa3 exhaust template. he is really helpful! I will be ordering from him again!

as for the porting tools, I got everything from harbor, 1/4 electric die grinder $30 a few packs of stones $3 and a large pack of 80 grit cones for $21. you do not need the expensive bits, maybe if you were porting multiple irons and or heads, the stones and drums listed here are more then enough. I also used my dremel for the more critical areas and the touch up, here is a almost done picture of my center iron.. runners are done but the face has not been ported. critics are welcome

cones

stones

I just started porting a few days ago and got a lot better result then I expected, i read the reviews on the grinder and had a lower expectation... but is a lot better than what others make it seem to be..

sideways-FC 01-06-12 08:20 PM

well I do need the sand paper rolls yet I found the carbite bits on amazon all I need is a ball stone yet. I like the carbite cuting bits they take the matel away like its butter and they do it super smooth. I like the air powerd die grinders. I have a bunch of junk housings I have been practising on.

does any body know if judge ito's porting template moves the opening of the port beyond where the the side seal tip rides?

no it does not... but like I express to you on the phone. it's the largest port available and the porting cannot be done past the lines of my aggresive template. IT'S THE LARGEST AVAILABLE. DO NOT PORT PASS THE LINES OF THE TEMPLATE. reason y I made a milder template. just incase some begginers port past the lines, they are still safe. I offer 2 templates now.

sideways-FC 01-27-12 02:32 PM

yea I saw one of your threads on the other forum talked about tapering the closing edge of port so the side seal dosnt catch the edge when you port past where the side seal rides. thats why I wonderd if your port went past that.

that was a thread I called "WILD PORT". In that situation I tried to fix a port already done by someone else.. basically I tried to save the plates by adding a taper to the closing edge of the port. I DO NOT OFFER A WILD PORT TEMPLATE.. just mild and aggresive..
