Some fun in the ol' bridgeport

Took the bridgeport out for a sunday drive today just thought i'd share the excitement I had in the country on a mostly deserted road :) . I was taking it pretty easy, especially in the corners but to give some perspective, when you hear it limit thats at 9500 rpm, and at the end of 3rd its at +-120mph. See if you can spot Table Mountain in the background

That's awesome! Out of curiosity does the hood scoop feed air to your ITBs? If i remember from your other thread they are like an ida carb correct. Would sure be sweet to have an airbox there :)

Inspiration to get my butt in gear. Your car is nice and quiet.

That was an awesome video! Revving out to 9500 rpm... That's crazy! Sweet little FB you have there. Whenever it comes time to rebuild the 13B in my 87 FC, It will probably be bridge ported also.

Man that looks like fun. Love that sound.

Yes because I need someone else to race against in modified rear class at the next event. PS I am thinking of coming down to julys OVR event

If I ever manage to make it to a Detroit event that doesn't conflict with WOR/OVR events, you can drive it in a fun run if you guys do those.

The July 16th is going to be held about as far away from *me* as I feel comfortable driving... it's basically a 4 hour drive for me in haul-ass mode, usually takes over 6 for the return trip. It's a very small field that is extremely rough and has a lot of elevation change.

I'm curious to see how I do there, because I basically demolished the other M2 competitors the first two times I had the car out this year.... and placed 2nd overall last time out. This being at NTR which tends to be high speed, flowing smooth courses. I was really worried about a Civic rally car that showed up, because those guys have power to spare (OMG K20/6sp) and they have a full rally prepped car, but the course was rough enough that they bent one of their DMS struts (!) so that probably didn't help them any.

Yeah i would have to get a hotel for a night or something, thats a faaaaar drive from my in detroit.

doesn't look like 120mph in 3rd, which would also require some drastic gearing. ;)

peejay 06-20-11 09:44 PM

Depends a lot on the gearing and tire diameter, for sure. Tall tires and pre-RX-7 final drive should do it.

GSL-SE gears and 205/50-15 tires hit a smidge over 92mph at 8000rpm. I know this, because I can hit 8000 in 3rd just before the MPH lights at the track, so I run through the speed measurement portion at the same speed. Bugs me to no end, it's too short a distance to shift to 4th. Need taller tires or a FC transmission or a higher rev limit :)

When I had 3.91 gears and taller tires (225/50-15), and no rev limit, I was still well under 9500 when sailing through the traps at an average of just under 100mph.
