Injector suggestions - Haltech f9 harness compatible
Heya - so i have everything I need to hook up the Haltech F9!!! However my road block has literally come to fitting round (stock) injectors into a square (haltech harness) plug. *SIGH*
I know the stock S5 N/A injectors are nothing to write home about, so i can either build a harness adapter or just buy upgraded injectors. Was curious what y'alls might have for suggestions. The setup: LARGE streetport S5 6-port block S5 intake manifold w/ VDI Ported throttle body Cold air intake 3" exhaust I'd like to be able to supply fuel for a best-case-scenario of up to 230 rwhp down the road - so I'm not sure what size I should be looking at in terms of aftermarket injectors. Additionally - I'm curious what your thoughts are on the injector baskets - needed or useful with upgraded injectors? I could see the primary baskets being useful as they deflect fuel into the chamber so as not to pool on the bottom of the intake runner, however the secondaries look like they attempt to atomize via spraying fuel at a mesh - thats ghetto wtf! What are you guys running? Regarding my 230whp comment - I'm not interested in a debate as to whether this build will yield that much power or not. The dyno and a good tune is the only thing to be said about that. I'm only trying to accommodate possible upgrades down the road. Thanks in advance! ~Geoff |
i'd just find four S4 NA injectors, or two GSL-SE injectors, or something.
since its an NA, the secondaries are on top, and its like 15 minutes to change em, if you need larger ones. |
^ What he said. You won't make 230 on a street car. We've run the stock NA injectors to 210 and had some head room. Just cut the connectors off the harness and install the proper connectors for the injectors you're using.

But in the event I do - where do you guys source injector plugs? OEM plugs are 25+ years old and brittle - I snapped 2 of mine hence not taking that route so far. As I said - I'm not here to debate HP #s the dyno tells all |

My haltech harness isnt breaking at all. The OEM harness is whats breaking, so I can't pull the plugs from it.
Thanks for the link J9fd3s - ordering a set of 4 tonight. Any specific kind of wiring I need to be using to extend the Haltech Harness, or standard multi-thread engine wiring good to go? Edit: I find it humorous that J9 posted the actual solution - which ended up being a link to C. Ludwig's site :P |

thanks for all your help and suggestions. I de-pinned the Haltech harness and re-pinned it onto some of Ludwig's plugs.
