Keep in mind that gtorx7 was also playing with intake runner length and to obtain the power numbers he did he shortened them and then revved the engine higher. I'm not saying that he didn't make great power with that engine but compare what rpm limit you want to run with what he ran.

Build really tight engine. Vast amount of clearances have biggest impact at low engine speeds and effect on BSFC and volumetric efficiency (resultant power) is very substantial.

Then its just matter of port timing, port area, intake setup, exhaust setup etc.

I'm pretty sure that peejay meant bridgeporting

I like the turbo answer. I was really disappointed with how the cars power felt vs the 250rwhp turbo setup I had last. Its not even reasonably comparable performance wise.

Differences between different dynos make "guaranteed" HP gains claims subjective. Is the porting the ONLY modification done to achieve those figures or are there supporting improvements to the fuel system, intake, ignition, timing etc?

Depending on condition of engine, intakes, exhausts, porting, it can make between 160-230

If anyone still follows this...I know it's an old thread... I am just about to dyno my REW streetport engine, FD irons with extend port, FD housings, RX8 crank, S5 High comp rotors. 52mm DCOE EFI Hardware throttle body running a megasquirt using 2 1600cc Injectors. This is a brand new engine, new irons, housings seals, bearings etc.

I'm using a Racingbeat IDA LIM with a custom cast UIM, exhaust is a stainless twin 2" system with twin resonators to the diff, into a 2.5" single with single muffler.

Looks good! I made 182whp with my frankenstein 13b using s4/s5 parts and a rx8 e-shaft

Unfortunately there is going to be a little delay in getting some official numbers, our local Dyno got firebombed! I'm doing some street tuning this morning using the Megasquirt VE to make it a bit more drivable, then I'll put some miles down and get her run in, ready, I'm hoping, to go on the dyno in a month or so.

Go to the track, weigh it, run it, then do the math, you should get within 15hp

Unfortunately not, the local DYNO Tuning shop was fire-bombed so they have been out of action for the last couple of months...Im about to go back to sea so when I get home, hopefully everything will be up and running.

i don't care about a 3 years revival... but just curious to see if your setup was finalized ? any videos ? i would love to hear it.
