Fuel Filter with a Pressure Regulator

they exist! VW part 6Q0 201 051J, its a 4 bar regulator

might make going EFI very easy, and or return-less

Or a fuel filter from a LS1 Corvette, or a late Cavalier, or any other number of GM vehicles. As a bonus they are only about $20 and take standard 3/8" push-connect fittings.

Also 4 bar.

Mercedes has a filter-regulator as well that incorporates a vacuum reference! I don't remember the model, just that it was hideously expensive. The fun part is that it is mounted at the back of the car, so they run a German Rubber vacuum hose all the way to the back.

this VW filter has a vacuum line too, and it was $17

Mercedes does weird things, current theory is that the cars are designed by office prank. its like someone gets too drunk at lunch, and when he gets back to work, they say we're done with the car, but you need to put your fuel pressure thing in, so it goes in the filter, with said vacuum line. or the E30 cooling system is another example. "gee looks great klaus, hey where are we going to put the cooling system"

Speaking of BMW's, the E46 also uses a similar fuel filter with vacuum reference.
It's mounted underneath the car next to the frame rails. It uses a much larger filter element than the VW unit.
