cold start issue

i have a 1986 rx7(GXL). when the motor is cold, i have to warm it up by revving it to about 3k for a few mins. I crank it and it wont idle by itsself.. i have to keep revving it until it gets warm enough or it will die instantly.

any suggestions?

BAC (I think thats what they were called on FC's) valve blocked or somehow not properly functioning?

thank god i just bought a haynes manual. another friend of mine told me it might be the BAC valve not working properly. Time to find it!

possibly the BACV or Thermowax on the back of the TB.

both are on the back of the throttle body?

On a S4 NA, the BAC is on the driver's side of the intake manifold. It's cylindrical and lies parallel to the ground. It also has a coolant line running through it. The thermowax is on the firewall side of the throttle body. It also had a coolant line running through it.
