97 fd,13b pp?

hi, i have a 97 fd which is currently running factory twins, power ,fc,downpipe, etc, the car is not street legal and we trailer it to track events, i am not wanting to go single turbo on the next set up but am keen to go n/a 13b pp injected, any of you guys run a pp in your fds and whats it like apart from loud,im not to worried about the hp figures,as 300hp or just over would suit me fine,i am just wanting a reliable, easy to work on set up for track racing,20b is not in the budget but would be awesome,is the fd to heavy for a pp,thanks.....

We have a number of guys running FD's up here. Most are turbo's, but when they wanted to change up and do something different 2 of the guys went totally different ways. The first went to a 20b PP. Great car, sounds great, runs very well and seems to be pretty reliable. The other team went to an LS1 swap for the best of all worlds. Great torque and flexibility. Not very different weight wise and the car became bone reliable and ultimately a lot quicker for cheaper than it was as a turbo 13b.

I just don't think that a 13B PP is going to float your boat. To get decent power out of the car, you have to turn the engine to scary high rpm's and the lifespan of the motor is measured in hours. A slight tuning issue and things pop pretty easily. I don't believe it would be good value to put a 13B PP in an FD. Spend the money on your Turbo setup. You can go way faster, easier and cheaper than an NA car.

Just my thoughts.

Green Brothers has built some really awesome rotaries. They built a 290hp 13b pp na engine @9500 rpms. They have a 2 piece 13b e-shaft so you can run a higher rpm setup too, i don't really know the details about it.
