87 GXL non turbo hard starts... HELP!

I have been working on getting my 87 GXL running better and starting better but am running out of ideas... I've replaced the injectors, MAF sensor, plugs, along with many other parts but they are irrelevant to the problem. It seems to always be flooded when I try to start it. I've checked vacuum and spark. Both are good. Is there suppose to be a fuel pressure regulator? Most of the steel fuel lines are replaced with rubber lines by previous owners. Figured maybe they forgot something. Also does the MAF replace the TPS? Cause I can't find one on my car. I have pulled the fuel fuse and turned it over to run dry and then tried starting it bit that rarely works. I also tried the teaspoon of ATF in lower plug holes but failed. Any ideas? Please help! THANKS!

1. start by checking the compression.

2. yes, there should be a pressure regulator on the fuel rail

3. no, the AFM does not replace the TPS. the TPS should be a black, button-like apparatus attached to the throttle body

4. next time you de-flood it I would recommend a little oil to coat the chambers first, then your choice of starting fluid or Seafoam as the accelerant.

Is that the TPS? If so I thought there would be wires running from it or a way to adjust it... I finally got it running but it idles rough an us running very rich. I've had it running about 20 minutes and there is still white fuel smelling smoke coming from the exhaust.

Here is the other side of my fuel rail. I see no regulator. I have no idea about the owners in the past or what they had done to it. I'm slowly trying to figure it out.

Oops lol. Been working on this thing too much. Losing my mind. Figured it out hahaha thanks!

What psi is good for the compression on these 13b rotaries?

Ok... Update. Got it running and idling good. Took it for a test drive and when I put it in gear it wants to stall. Also when I come up to a stop sign it tries stalling. But when I park it it idles perfect... Any ideas??
