3rd spark plug
Hello,
Im currently in early stages of producing a 4 rotor (currently sourcing parts) Is a 3rd spark plug like the r26b worth it? Jeff 20b left a reply on someone elses post a while a back that wasnt worth it. Does it increase MPG since? Does it increase the burn? Should it fire with both other spark plugs at the same time it should it have a delay? Shall i leave the 3rd spark plug idea alone? |
do a search for "spark split" this will tell you that you do not want the two plugs to fire at the same time for the most power output. Now the fun part's what to do with the water jacket you want to put a plug into and how to control three ignition events for 4 rotors. It not done a lot as the gain is small for the cost.

IMO, its really used to make sure you get the full spark out of every drop of fuel that's in the combustion chamber. If your trying to reach the highest hp #'s possible, this will show a small increase. But it's a lot of work for the small gain you'd get over having 2 spark plugs.
And as stated earlier, you also are going to have to program something to control the ignition of the 3 spark plugs firing all 4 rotors at the correct timing. |
The 3 spark plug per rotor setup offers almost no more power, only only helps with fuel economy.
