So, i'm curious about how it will do on the dyno.

Me too, but PPRE doesnt ever post dyno charts.

sweet Mary ....

LS-what now???? the apocalypse is here!

Jimbo II 03-26-13 02:10 PM

Yeah 813 Hp atw is pretty sweet! I saw this thing do a lap of the local circut on the weekend just gone. It definitely wanted to pop the front wheels on teh straights

I think it used close to 5 litres of fuel for a lap of the 2.6km circut though...

RCCAZ 1 03-26-13 02:47 PM

The biggest mistake I see that PPRE made with this motor was building it for a customer, versus a shop car/test bed. If they had taken the latter route, they could drive it hard, run it leaner for more power, eventually break it and learn from the teardown. Based on the fuel consumption info provided above and the car making less than it's power potential, it's obvious that they're currently running it rich in an attempt to protect their customer's investment (and the shop's reputation). Actually a very safe approach financially, but it kind of limits you if your intent is to LEARN the limits of your creation. I have a TON of respect for what they've achieved, so please don't misinterpret my comments. I'm sure once the engine has a few more miles on her they'll start exploring it's full potential.

Again, just my .02!

Jimbo II 03-26-13 08:35 PM

Or running it rich in public/online vids, and keeping its actual performace to themselves ;)

mattallac 03-26-13 11:35 PM

No air cleaners ,nice, must not need them .I need to start a new thread " how to screw up your motor , no air cleaners " all that $ and time and no air cleaner ? WTF

haltechguy 03-28-13 08:46 PM

My buddy was speaking to the owner on the weekend and apparently its only a run in tune they are expecting it to make about 1500whp when they switch to E85/meth and rev it higher!! Crazy! no wonder its got wheel tubs!

haltechguy 03-28-13 08:55 PM

opps was meant to say 1500 at flywheel

Love the little burst on the straightaway (2:17 to 2:23). This thing will be very hard to keep hooked. Nice!!

That would be 1250rwhp... not to be a negative nancy, but this is a n/a 3-rotor x 2. For it to make that type of power it is the same as a n/a 3 rotor producing 637rwhp. I would try to keep things a bit more realistic.

Jimbo II 04-01-13 02:33 PM

I'd believe 900rwhp would be achievable? 3 x 13B PP's with 300 hp atw?

Could maybe squeeze a bit more out of it?

I'd love to have this motor in my SA and go to Bonneville.

It sounds like it's phased at 120degrees like a regular 20b. Firing two rotors at the same time I guess. I guess that's the only way they could get an ecu to work with this beast. Power aside, I really was hoping that it would have a unique sound of it's own.

Correct big bang fire, two rotors at a time. 60 degree split would have been pretty cool, but I think balancing is a issue.

900rwhp is possible. If we built a 6 rotor, it would start out at 964 rwhp+

I wouldn't doubt that at all Logan ;) Either way, those numbers are very good for an engine that breaths like an 8.0 liter. A viper engine isn't anywhere close to this.

either that or its 3 two rotors... i think the thing is really cool, but they have a hard time backing it off the trailer, and you have to wonder if it shouldn't run like a V16?

djSL 04-11-13 05:38 PM

This thing is absolutely ridiculous. That much power NA on tap. That being said, if the monopoly man ever visits me with a cardboard check...I want.
