JFroTurbo 01-17-09 10:27 AM

so i dont know if the question got answered or not, since rotaryRX is gone, do we have anyone left to do rotary work in rio rancho or abq??

kencunm 02-17-09 08:31 AM

While I have no idea as to their reputation there is a place called "Made in Japan" on southern Eubank between I-40 and Central that "say" they specialize in mazdas. I have heard rumors that there is some old guy (if he is still there) that does work on rotaries.

JFroTurbo 02-17-09 10:03 PM

yah i have never heard of the place, so i dont know. but yah it would be nice to find another shop like tom's. i just dont think its going to happen though.

kamisama12 02-19-09 08:39 PM

Is there any place that rotary people hang out each week? I'm home for another 2 weeks and would like to go to a car hang out to meet and greet some people.

JFroTurbo 02-21-09 06:25 PM

some times a few 7's would hit Montgomery, but i dont think anyone goes out there anymore. not even the ricer kids.

JFroTurbo 02-21-09 06:44 PM

i really dont know if there is much of a rotary crew anymore here in NM, but someone was trying to get a meet going, i dont think it will be untill later in the year though.

Michaelangelofb 02-22-09 08:29 PM

I'm down for any of those months as long as it doesn't conflict with a race weekend.

kencunm 02-24-09 10:50 AM

Half of my weekends are used up already but if it hapens on a free weekend I might be able to attend.
Damion you putting in overtime? I saw your car near Farris a few weekends ago.

I try not to let work and school pour over into my weekends, but sometimes it's unavoidable. That was the first weekend that my FC was back on the road since September. Now it's dirty, smelly, loud, and possibly has an intake leak. Still nice to have it back though...I might even race it at a few SCCA events.

Very true. After five years of owning rotaries I should be used to it by now :).

Yeah I heard of that place too. It's actually near my work on Eubank near Central. The original owner of my red FB used to take it to them. In fact when the original motor blew, they were the ones who put in a new motor. They didn't rebuild it, they just put in a new one.

Ever since Tom told me he was going to leave, I took it upon myself to really brush up on doing stuff on my own. It seems to be the case for a few of us now since there is no "real" rotary shop in town.

Sometimes that is the best way to get things done, and get it done right.

kencunm 04-15-09 01:07 AM

Anyone have a recomendation for getting my AC looked at? Far as I can tell it's the original stuff from 1983.

Michaelangelofb 04-16-09 10:11 PM

I would highly suggest going straight to mazda for stuff like that.

My friend put a hole in his condenser when a wrench slipped. They fixed it fast (on a Saturday).

Interesting,, that's the second good thing I've heard about them. Sounds like I may give them a shot.
