Anyone in KC wanna come tinker with my fc?

Just a feeler to see if there's anyone in the KC area that knows a little about getting these things running again. I'm not too terribly mechanically inclined to begin with. I've changed the oil, fuel filter and new plugs. Hate to throw too much money at the wrong problem.

I could provide monetary compensation, especially if we get it figured out.

I'm actually on the far east end of Independence btw.

Thanks in advance!

Well scratch that, I got it running. Got to digging around and noticed a switch under the dash. Flipped it... Now it starts. BUT, no brakes! LOL so, if anyone wants to come poke around on it next weekend and figure it out with me...

You have no brakes what so ever?! Or no power assist?

Pedal goes all the way to the floor, takes forever to stop. Added fluid, was completely out. Hand brake works.

Hmm... I might be able to come take a look at it this weekend if I don't have to work. How old are the pads and rotors? Would probably be best to bleed the whole system and see where it goes from there. Hopefully there's no leaks.

Dunno, bought it a couple months ago for a grand. Still poking at it lol

Sounds good... Not sure what my schedule will be. I don't work weekends, but my Grandma is going through surgery tomorrow. I'll pm you my number.

If the fluid was run dry, you'll likely need to bench bleed the master cylinder then just do a basic bleed on the brakes.

I have a vacuum brake bleeder (connects to compressor) we can use to bleed the brakes. With this we would not need to bench bleed them. Only thing is you got to come to my place. Plenty of room in the barn.

I can understand not wanting to drive with bad brakes. I'm so busy with kids and family and other projects there's no way I can come to your place.

I got the hand pump and did it myself. All good now! Still appears the master cylinder leaks a little, brakes are still soft, i suspect bad seals in the master cylinder. Shall be replacing tomorrow.
