zeroing timing on an FD?

anyone know how to zero timing on an FD? i have searched several forums and only found methods for FC's .

When i'm correct you cant zero timing on a FD. the CAS sensors cant be moved, when you install them in the right way the Microtech will know how your rotors are positioned.

Hope this helped. I had the same problem, but the engine started up without problems. (well had problems, but not affected by the CAS

well i was just wondering how many degrees of timing should be set in the static window. my unit came with 10 as default.

I believe it doesnt matter as long as you can set a proper idle. Mine is 11 at idle I believe. Just play with it until it idles nice keep it between 5 and 10 if im not mistaken.

well i just checked the timing with a timing light and locked the timing, but the yellow notch was not lining up with the pin. it was like and inch off to the left of the pin if you were looking from the front of the car. Skim41 have you had any problems checking timing on your car with a timing light?

Yes, their are 3 notches on the pulley. 1 is on the outside, large lever type. 2 is a small dimple in the outside ring. and number 3 is on the inside that will be on the right, after your 2nd CAS. have someone check it for you while you rev the car. I think thats the one that moves.

well all i was trying to do was confirm the microtech is reading the exact timing figure the engine is running, but i'm doing this with a basic timing light that only flashes whatever timing the engine is currently running.

I red somewhere (I think on the microtech forum) that the left notch should be on the pin that is sticking out of the Front casing.

when i checked my timing all the marks were to the left of the pin. i played with static values and idle timing and could only get within an inch. i'm gonna try with a better timing light that i can dial in.

I had the same dilemma, but she runs, and without problems. Except for huge stuttering when the secondaries come in. Dont know what it is, rich or lean.
