zero timing

Can someone explain to me how to zero the timing in the handcontrller. I followed the manual and still get the same thing. My handcontroller says the timing is 27degrees btdc. But the CAS is timed correct with the timing lock on. Then turn the timing lock off and it should be set. But its not working that way or am I just reading it wrong.

Start the car and warm it up to operating temperatures. Make sure that it idles well enough to stay smooth.

Go to screen 31 and turn the timing lock on.

Rotate the CAS so that the pointer on the front cover lines up to the yellow (leading) mark on the pully.

Tighten CAS bolt.

Turn timing lock off.

Your timing is now set.

if you set it with the timing lock on then your timing is correct.
but when you switch it off. cause your computer is advancing 27 degrees then of course when you put the timing light its gona look like its out.

Why have you got so much timing on idle?
bring it back to 5 degrees. or if its bridgeport/p port run 15/20 degrees.

That's my whole question. How do I do that, bring it back to 5 degrees?

Go to T_rpm idle and bring it back to 5 degrees.
If that makes no difference your tps isnt correctly calibrated.
