Why no timing of The Trailing?

I guess I still have the stock outline of timing In my head. But why Is It just the Leading has to be adjusted to suite the LT8 and not the Trailing aswell?

The trailing is fired depending on the split you have programed.

Details would be Immensily appreciated.:) I'm partial to understanding anything at this moment. I gave myself a wicked slash with an exacto knife moments ago, by accident of course. Yet I still post.:D

The trailing spark is fired after the leading. The amount after is determined by the split. The split can be adjusted (don't have the manual in front of me to tell you the screen)

For example, if the split is set at 15, then the trailing plug is fired 15 degrees after the leading.

This is my understanding of the situation.

what is the proper setting does anybody know?, as i was thinkging that may be my problem? not a big one but I do think that it is not split properly! This is why i want a compotent person to tune my microtech,

rx7 turbo2;
are you still trying to sell you microtech? If so how come?

The "proper" setting for split depends on quite a few things such as boost, RPM, power output, fuel octane ect. It is said the most power will be made as split approaches 0, but others say this is not always the case.

So as with most things with a standalone, the "proper" setting depends alot on your situation.

I think I'm going to hang onto it. The people at Microtech (Dale 10sec rx7) have been unbelievably helpfull talking me through some senario's and helping resolve some issues.

I had lots of problems all at once, most got solved, but a nagging smoking one never did and now I'm having to tear the motor down to find out why. So it's alot of frustration coming through that your seeing on the board. Winter has hit here big time, and I won't be driving the car for awhile, I have to remember to just tough it out and deal with it. At this point I have all this new gear and a new motor and I'm no further ahead than I was this time last year. I will be going on 2+ years of not really driving it. It's been sitting not running longer than it was running, and that's really a shame and really frustrating. It's all I can do not to sell the whole thing, cut my losses, and move on. Sorry had to vent.:devil:
