where to buy a microtech
im looking to purchise a new lt10 unit and i was wondering where the best place to buy one is...and how difficult this would be to install..i plan on useing the new harness that microtech supplys and im gonna trash the old harness...i plan on installing it then taking it to my tuner for first start up and dyno tune..

I just purchased a LT10s for my TII swapped GSL-SE and it is currently on its way from Aussie Land. I bought it through HP Motoring on Ebay. They are a race shop in Miami with some links to RX-7 racing. Since I have not got it yet, I can't comment on their quality or service, but the price was pretty good. I got the LT10s for $950 and the laptop adapter for $140 plus shipping. Looks liek the install shouldn't be too bad based on the Microtech Wiring Diagrams.

anyone else find a cheaper place?

I'd dish out a couple hundred more to have a new unit with warranty. You know and I know there are scammers and if you buy an EMS from someone who isn't honest or no idea what he has (Microtech is engine specifc), you're in for a long road of diagnosing your problem. |
oh yeah i deffinetly want a new one...i think the ones that that ebay seller has are new
damn thats 100$ more then the ones on ebay...i wonder why

KD Rotary sells, installs and tunes microtec. I took my FD there last week for a check up (just bought it) and Dave said Microtec is his favorite ECU. They are one of the most respected Rotary shops around and are just around the corner (so to speak) from you in New Tripoli (near Kutztown) PA. I'm not sure what Dave charges but its good to know he knows his stuff and can install and tune the ecu on their in house dyno.
Their website is http://www.kdrotary.com/ |
yeah hes the guy who tuned my car before and he talked me into goin microtech..im trying to save some $ and install itmyself then take it to him for a good tune
im ready to order my lt10 unit and i was gonna go with the guy on ebay but he only lists it for the 89-92 and then he has a listing for 87-93 fc&fd....whats the differnce? which one should i order?
The 89-92 microtech is meant for t2 models (it's labled after the year) while the 87-93 would most likely be for N/A
would there really be any difference in the computer between those years?
The difference is maybe within which boost sensor it uses.
well i went ahead and orderd the one for the 89-92 even though mine is an 87...i cant see that there would be any difference between the S4 and S5 turbo II
You order it through HP Motoring? I personally spoke to Jeff at HP and he said the it works for S4 and S5 TIIs. Also, the computer has a built in pressure sensor, pretty sweet.
yeah thats where i orderd it from did you recive yours yet?
Not yet. He said that he was ordering 6 Microtechs from Australia and that a few were back ordered. He decided to wait till all 6 were ready and have them all shipped together. Save on the shipping. But considering the price he is charging, can't really complain.
o dam well how long have you been waiting and when does he expect these to come in i dont have all summer to wait for an ecu
About 3-weeks. I think he said he was getting them Friday, which is today, and would seen it to me two-day UPS.
damn i hope i get one of those 6 ecu's and i dont have to wait 3 weeks for mine
I get all my Microtechs from www.theracingstore.com ,tony is a real good guy and ships things real fast.I know for a fact he has some right now ready to ship cause i just ordered another one yesterday.
Finally got it.
god damnit i need mine like yesterday it better not take very long
Jeff is easy to get ahold off and will answer your questions, but it did take a while. But for $950 vs. $1300+ from the other guys, I can't complain.
