washed motor

Well i washed my motor and car runs like crap im think its injectors becuase it starts fine idle good just when going to about 3000 when secondarys kick in car falls on its face and afr leans way out 22.5 any ideas its also been 1 week since i washed it everything must be dry.

injectors arnt opening probably.

washing your motor shouldnt have anything to do with it. check that your secondaries are come on.

zeaone 06-04-08 06:45 AM

What's the best way to check could i use the ecu?

jon4825 06-04-08 06:45 AM

what afr sensor/gauge you using that reads to 22.5? Still uses Bosch 02?

rx72c 06-04-08 08:15 AM

its probably reading 22.5 cause its a backfire.

zeaone 06-04-08 05:38 PM

yep its a backfire stutter and falls flat until i let off and smooth it in must be injectors also in running lm1

I have been having similar problems and got new injectors and it fixed nothing.

I got a fuel pressure regulator and it was bouncing around.

When I looked up faulty FPR I found people who said that their secondaries were not firing and that they found their fuel pump sock dirty.

I changed my fuel pump sock and it fixed it for about a half a mile.

Then I dropped my tank and washed out about a bucket full of rust and dirt and now my car runs beautifully.

May not help but let me know.

i allready have a good fuel pump i might just check my filters also im going to upgrade injectos anyway im runing 550cc allround need to go bigger without a dought also tank is pretty clean inside

rx72c 06-05-08 11:02 AM

The filter can also be the problem.
thats true.

check it all

BluRR 06-05-08 05:18 PM

check your plugs and coils..especially the coils since you got stuff wet inside your engine

zeaone 06-05-08 06:01 PM

Whats the best way to check coils just pull plug and see if it arcs or is there a way with muiltmeter

zeaone 06-06-08 05:49 PM

problem solved i found a bad injector plug replaced all the old clips wallah runs like a champ still in to getting new injectors don't know if i souled use hi or low imp injectors can someone explain difference:) :) :)

rx72c 06-06-08 06:42 PM

hi impedence will generally have a better spray pattern from what ive found.

But then again. In secondaries ive never had a problem using low impedence injectors.
