Tuning IDLE AFR?
I am taking my '93 Single Turbo to get an emissions test done this afternoon. They only do a sniffer test at idle, so I want to tune for that specific test.
I have the microtech connector, and I have a laptop with the software, I can get it up and running, but then I am not sure how to proceed. I have a Wideband and currently idle AFR at 850 is 11.8-12.1 range, I would like to lean it out a bit to 14.7~15.5 at that low of an RPM (between 800rpm and 2500 RPM just in case) Is there a way that I can make that change on the fly with the laptop setup? Ideally I don't want to mess with my maps I just want lean out the idle, roll up to the test and then revert back... I have no clue where to start, but reading the ltmanual.pdf, I looks like I have to change from a view mode to program mode, and there is normal and matrix, and not sure which I need, but sounds like the first screen 1 is idle, and there are 6 screen sets....but I don't understand what that means yet. Any one have a quick step by step guide to adjusting AFR with a laptop? |
I havent used microtech, but your car might not want to idle well at stoich 14.7 afr .
I dont remember seeing a 13b idle so lean . usually in the 11-13.8 . And for the leaner mixes I believe the timming was advanced a bit. Would be worth dropping by a tuning shop for them to set you up. |
