tps calibration

I was calibrating the tps last night and the book shows:

Opt TPScal +10%
+00% 30 8.33mS

When I did mine, it showed:

Opt TPScal +99%
+00% 30 ????

Is it right to have the +99% to get it to calibrate to zero? The astrick appeared and the yellow light came on as the book said it should.

The physical TPS is probably wildly out of adjustment, or it is connected backwards.

Whe you floor it, does the TPS reading fall frm 99% to zero? If so, it's backwards.

If you have to really increase the offset to get it to read zero, use the TPS adjustment screw to physically adjust it.

Thanks dude, I didn't get an answer from here very quick so I email Jon and he basically told me the same thing. He said that it should be about +50 to calibrate the tps to +00. So, I'll go home and do that tonight. Thats as far as I've got on it, I didn't have a warm and fuzzy about the way the numbers were looking so I figured I should do some more checking before pressing on. Thanks again.

typically if you set the TPS to read 1 volt at idle then the correction should be somewhere around 24% to 29%.

personally i just turned mine up so it reads about 10% throttle input because the TPS' on these cars are pure and utter shit.... and the microtech is too sensitive to always pick up that the TPS is at rest, sometimes it goes out by 1% and my idle is whacky so i set a manual idle and disregard the sensor now.

Problem solved, I had two wires crossed, go figure. Now it reads 27% and is calibrated. It also goes from 00 to 99% as you increase the throttle. Amazing what happens when its wired right. Thanks for the input.
