tps calabration

on a 87 turbo II is there a screw to calarate it with or do you just do it with the microtech?

SwooshMan Jun 10, 2004 10:58 PM

You do it on the microtech

fc dude Jun 11, 2004 09:17 AM

ok thanks just wanted to know because mines bad and thought maybe you did it with the screw

SwooshMan Jun 11, 2004 11:22 PM

You should be able to use a bad tps. It only has to work a tiny bit for the microtech to see your off idle

fc dude Jun 12, 2004 10:13 AM

no it idles fine, is that it hits a wall at 3200 rpms and when i check the tps screen at wot it only reads about 61%, also i have a small exhaust leak where the turbo sits at the manifold so that may also be a Problem. am gona replace both to see if there some improvment if not then i'll check my timing again

unless your main load is ur tps then all the tps is used for is to switch between maps. waht i am saying, as long as your main load is on th emap sensor then ur tps just tellth emicortech the get off the idle map and go to the load map.

fc dude Jun 13, 2004 10:33 AM

how can i tell if the tps is on my main load?

silverrotor Jun 14, 2004 12:43 AM

No one has any business using a bad TPS.

HIMNI Racing Jun 16, 2004 08:28 AM

Speak it again ^^^

I use both the TPS and MAP to tell th MT what's up. If the tps drops the ball, you'll know it! I'm now thinking about going to the s5 tps because my s4 has slowly started to loose calibration more and more offten. If it's bad, it needs to be the trash!
