t_map t_rpm ??

I am in need of some help as to how to properly tune t_rpm and t_map and how it relates to t_gap. A friend of mine said to set the t_rpm to 16 and the gap to 13 then just tweak it from there but we are still not sure how to set the t_map.

Can some one give me a better explanation of these two the manual is kinda vague to me.

T_RPM is the main timing curve for the engine based on RPM. Think of it as the mechanical advance in a dizzy. The stock setup is a good place to start. T_MAP is a timing correction map that can either add or remove timing based on manifold pressure. Think of it as the vacuum advance. T_GAP is the split between the leading and trailing. Keep this map how it is configured from Microtech unless you know what you are doing.

The T_RPM could use more advance all around. Keep in mind if you add a few degrees to T_RPM you will need to take it out above vacuum in T_MAP. General rule is to pull 2 degrees from the base map for every PSI of boost. In the end, you should be running no more then about 15 degrees of timing at around 16 PSI of boost.
