Stock wire ?
 

ok,the tan wires on the coils(on the coil side) gets contected to the pink wire going to the Microtech. That same pick wire gets switched 12 volts from a diff sorce. (all connected together) I understand that w/no probs.

Now, after I cut the connectors off the car side, hooked to the pink wire ( to plug into the coils), their are 4 cut wires on the stock harness. 3 are black with a yellow stripe. Can I get switched power from them or are they dead after removing the stock ECU?

one more thing....what's the best place to get the switched 12 volts for that pink wire?

The best way I've found is to leave the coil power wires attached (all of them), and simply tap into one of those leads for power. Power on those leads isn't dependent on the stock ECU.

Note that this only applies to the FC, and may or may not apply to an FD. :)

Oh ok. So I wouldn't even have to tie them together with the pink wire cuz they already are?? Just tap the pink wire into say, the black and yellow on the leading coil? I just want to make sure I have this right. It should be my only install ? Everything else seems clear.

damn i did it the hard way. does this mean that those wires I left in there that are cut are 12+ when the car is on :? I took out the harness onthe passenger side, but I left the drivers side in there untill I do a battery relocation.

That sucks. I'm sure alot of guys cut them. I just wanted to be sure before I did it.

Oh, one more ? The pink wire ON THE L COILS (stock) that goes to the grey/blue MT wire.....Can I cut it from the stock harness? Same w/ the two ,that go to the T coils?

Are those the ones the MT uses to "tell" the coils to fire?

i believe you are correct. my harness were butchered when i got them and i had to redo EVERYTHING. it was a helluva fun time especially figuring out how he wired up the fuel pump wrong and didn't put any +12V ignition.........

Yes, you can completely sever the coil trigger wire connection to the stock harness - it's not needed any more, since the LT assumes complete ignition duties. As for the power wires, you can leave those as-is, and just tap into one of them as the "ignition-on" signal for the ECU.
