starting issue

im having a startup issue with my lt8 S4. the engine will start, but after about 4sec of running it just dies off and stalls even if i give it a bit of throttle it always seems to function as a if its on a timer... the car has no exhaust/intake,street ported s4,factory fuel injectors... any ideas?

T04Eneedy 10-02-09 09:19 AM

vid of the car starting.

ive verfied that the fuel pump is operating rught up until the engine reaches 0 rpm.and ive tried several different basemaps...

by no intake,i mean it has no filter.

im pretty much at a loss as to what it could be...

Increase the warmup enrichments in the (funny named) T_wat tables.

The car will start and run for 4 seconds because the afterstart enrichment is keeping the mixture fat, but it only lasts for around 5 seconds.

T04Eneedy 10-02-09 09:47 AM

alrighty, ill give it a shot

thanx alot man!

rx72c 10-02-09 06:43 PM

That dosnt sound like aftermarket enrichments.

And the T_wat map is no for afterstart enrichments. It is a timing correction map for water temperature.

Can you put up another vid of you holding the revs up and see if it still switches off.

If it does i reckon your loosing fuel pressure.

well i messed around with the car a bit more today. i managed to take a log of the occurance. what do u guys think about this?

fuel filter

T04Eneedy 10-03-09 09:49 AM

hmmm im gonna check out my fuel flow today and slam in some new plugs. im almost 100% sure the filter is good since thecar ran fine whith the factory ecu(but the car has sat for a year and a half so ill check anyway). does the timing and fuel look to be in the ballpark? whats going on when it switches to the pump1m status? rx72c, i know u have the answer. its just a matter of me providing you with enough accurate information!

thanx so far fellas!

Aaron Cake 10-03-09 10:29 AM

I'm sorry, I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I posted T_wat. I meant to say the Water map.

no prob man

rx72c 10-03-09 04:39 PM

Are you able to write down the map out of hte ecu or even take page snap shots if you have the laptop.

Tune looks lean, add that to your non existent voltage you will have problems.
How have you wired the fuel pump up? through microtech relay or factory wiring?
I still think your loosing fuel pressure.

the pump is wired through the microtech relay with a 8ga wire running to the pump. im gonna buy an inline fuel pressure gauge and check it out tomorrow

thanx

T04Eneedy 10-08-09 02:27 PM

ah hah!!!!! it is a fuel pressure problem!!!! thanx so much fellas.there is soon to be another microtech powered t2 on the streets!

13B_Conceptz 10-20-09 03:01 AM

wow this seems like the problem i was having... but with the factory ecu.. lets see what microtech does for me

rx72c 10-20-09 07:13 AM

microtech will fix it.
