standalone newbie question
 

i have a 87 TII that i put a lt10 unit in..i have 1600cc sec and 850 prim injectors..i started the car up and it runs really rich and cuts out with any throttle inputs over 2500rpm..how do i do a rough tune just to be able to drive it till its broken in? i know i have to adjust the fuel maps but im not sure how..any help would be great...thanx

you cant upload maps on a microtech.

The only way to do so, is finding someone with a microtech that's got the same setup as you, ask him to save his map on his laptop adapter, borrow his laptop adapter plug it on YOUR microtech, and then upload on your unit...

pretty complicated if you ask me...

couldnt someone who had my same setup just take a screenshot of there load map so i can get a basic idea of where i need to be? i just need it to run good up to 3500 rpm for 500 miles then it will be broken in and i can dyno tune it

if you have a wideband, just put the micro in program mode and adjust the settings. Its pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

i do have a wideband...but im new to these standalones i know how to adjust a SAFC thats about it lol so if the car idles good i only wanna adjust the load map and leave the idle map alone right? do i have to change any other maps when i change the load maps?

There are examples of various "base" maps in the maps sticky.

Several things will be effecting you tune right now. The %stage is wrong (try changing it to 80%) and of course the injector pulsewidths are MUCH too high.

Switch the unit to Matrix mode and then follow the instructions in the manual to generate a from the existing load curve. Now start the basic process of tuning. Between 1500 and 3000 RPM and 15" to 0" of vacuum, you should see a progression of injector times (this is rough) of about 0.62 at the low RPM high vacuum area to almost 3mS at the high RPM low vacuum area.

You'll never blow it up in vacuum.
