s4 na>TII swap with fresh rebuild and LT8 - all at once
As some of you may know, I'm dropping In a freshly rebuilt BIG streetported S5 TII Motor and Drivetrain. I'm doing this with the LT8.
I'm not asking for any TII conversion questions, but I am asking If their Is anything that I need to address or pay attention to, considering all the abovecoincide with one another. How does the LT8 respond to a rebuild, considering both the Motor and the LT8 are "untuned" at the time of Install? The only other thing I need to do Is punch In stock TII Fuel Map values. Unfortunately, my LT8 was sent to me In NA version.:( Is their anything else? The showdown takes place next Tuesday and It'll be on the Saturday (Infact, a week from today I'll be In a totally different 7) I'll be doing the wire up. This Is the base Fuel Maps values I'll be using (thanks again 10sec rx7) - Link not working anymore. I should thank myself for saving and printing It than? This Is my beastly proposed setup.:) http://can-saf.com/albums/album11/13b_008.sized.jpg Thanks |

If you've got Dale's base fuel map settings in, then your car is no longer N/A anything ;) Don't sweat it, mate! Seriously, put the thing on the car and start tuning!
Good luck, Brandon BR7 Racing |
I just put a new S5, huge street ported engine & the MT in at the same time. It started the 1st time I turned the engine over. (like two days ago) I'm going to brake the engine in on the base map. No way in hell you'll find me making dyno pulls on a fresh motor. Just keep some Power Foam on hand to keep the carbon build up down. (runs rich) I even added power foam ports to my UIM. :)

Sorry i deleted everything off my hosting to put my website on there, www.braidedlines.com
shoot me a email dale@braidedlines.com and ill email you the map Dale |
No problem Dale. I was fortunate enough to print the maps once you sent me the link. It turns out, however, that the LT8 box labeled 6-port NA was Infact programmed with stock TII fuel maps. Everything went well and I'm getting a fell of my new setup. It's a totally different animal now with me hearing whoosh of every shift. I love It.

Awesome, glad to hear you got it running. Good luck, and happy tuning!

A blast from the short past. We got the lil bastard, I guess I should say BIG bastard, on account of It's BIG Streeport, started. But It wasn't easy. Flooding, oil down the Leading Plugs would only make It want to start progressively. Finally, along a long stretch of lot 3:00am on a Sunday Monday morning, we took racerjasons front Bumper to my Rear end. Popped the Clutch at 3000 rpms and she finally lived.
Initial Impressions on breaking In a freshly rebuilt, streetported s5 TII Motor and Conversion? Smooth as silk. The conjunction of the fresh rebuild and my LT8 Is holding up very well. Now time to lock In the timing.:D |
