Question about stock fuel map and TPS calibration.
I have an 85 that I just put a s5 swap in. This is my first time using any aftermarket ecu so our plan is to have this guy a few cities over tune it for us. It's an LT-10, btw.
My ecu is supposed to have a stock fuel map for t2 so does that mean I can just plug it in and start it? I don't have to use a lap top to enable it or anything, do I? I want to be able to drive it there. It it a really bad idea drive the car without calibrating the tps? Can I calibrate this myself and then take it to get tuned? How do you hook the ecu up to a computer? There is a computer monitor style plug on the side of the ecu, but it didn't come with any cord. Do I need a cord with usb on the other side or what? |
btw it is a switch type tps.
Do I need to buy this? http://shop.microtech-efi.com/produc...products_id=42 Or should I just get this? http://shop.microtech-efi.com/produc...products_id=34 The guy that is going to tune it already has this stuff I believe. So it would be useless for me to buy it then, except that I need to calibrate the tps. Can I just adjust the tps without a computer and sort of eyeball it for now? Or is it safe to drive it without doing so until I get it tuned? Can I just unplug it for the time being? |
