Question about 550's and 1600 staging

I have S4 TO4B.

I have %stage set at 98%.

Can someone tell me what I could expect the Ms value's would be around the cross over? I don't need exact values, just a template because I'm either way to rich or way to lean.

I have the 2nds coming on at 3000 and 4psi (may change to 0) but moved it up so I could test it.

but I have the 15 10 5 0hg's set around 1.2Ms. What will the setting be once I'm in the 2ndary zone?

.35Ms? and then go up from there? I think I originally had it at 3Ms and higher but was running real rich I think.

just have no basis for comparison.

Hey mate,

you will need to put the map stage on about 10inhg to get it to stage smoothly

when you set the %stg to 98 it adds 48% more fuel to the primary injectors and when it stages them it removes the fuel to give you a smooth trasition,

you will need to just play around with it until it is smooth, when it comes on it if goes rich you will need to just reduce the load points above the switch in,

I read some of your others. But are my values I have in mind somewhat right?

Also did you by anychance read my other post about the wiring for the Aux output for the electric fan? Can tune until I get it running.

it dosent really work like that,

say you have the 10inhg at 2.50ms and the 5 at 3.15ms and the 0 at 4.00ms, when the %stg is at 98 the figures will actually be 3.70ms, 4.66ms and 5.92ms outputted to the injectors, when the stage comes on it reduces these back to the figures you have entered, this way you can tune out any of the richness etc,

at a guess you would be going back to about 2ms there abouts when the stage comes on,

i will have a look at my maps on my car which is a 550/1200 setup

Ok.
Here's the best way to set these things up.
Have your Map stage set to 2 psi
set your rpm stage to 3000
set your % stage to 99%
You will find that you will more than likely have around 5.5 m/s at 2 psi & you will have to do a big drop back to around 3.0m/s at 4 psi when the secondaries switch on.
I can have a look on a few of my customers cars & see exactly what settings I have but off the top of my head it will be something like that.
Give it a go

Here is an update of intrest:

I attempted to tune the car myself. I got it to run pretty good in 2D mode. switched to 3D to fine tune. The AF was all over the place on the top end so I decided to take the car and let Rotary Performance tune it in Garland. I bought everything from them. From what I understand they bought the MT from mazsport. Anyway they are running into the same problems I am. They have fine tuned it but they still get the big hicup when the secondaries turn on. They've had the car almost 2 months I think.

I was thinking that these problems would go away if I would switch to an injector size that was a closer jump instead of the 550/1600 setup I have now. I was thinking of running either 720/1050's or 1000/1000 all the way around.

The other issue is the turbo setup. The turbo I have on the car spools really fast and hard and flows a lot of air. If you remember back to the very first turbo kit that HKS made for the FC, that is the kit that's on the car. It's a To4B that was a little unique from what I was told. But the change in RPM and vac/boost happens faster than the stock turbo would and probably more than many other turbos people are running (well maybe that's a big assumption ) But no matter what we do the hiccup won't go away plus the top end AF is all over the place at 8psi.

The problem is that the LT8 was installed at the same time as new injectors, fuel pump, FPR, and a few other things. But RP agrees that everything looks good. I think they are just as frustrated as I am. The only thing I really know to do is swap in different injectors and go from there.
