Powering up LT-8 to check settings & operation

Am I able to power up an LT-8 with it not attached to an engine or vehicle? I just bought it used, and I want to see if it at least powers up, and review the settings before I install it. I have the handheld programmer thing, and I plan on ordering the dongle to connect it to a laptop. I was thinking I can hook up power, ground, and ignition and power it up, but will it hurt anything?

Also, this is supposedly for an S4 TII, and I was thinking of putting it on my S4 N/A for right now, then install the S4 TII motor that came with it over winter, can this be done? I want to get the hang of it on a more forgiving N/A first.

You can power it on the bench, no problem. Just make sure not to short anything. You won't get any readings from sensors, unless you also connect them.

Sure, you can install it on the NA. The ECU doesn't care NA or turbo, it's all in the tune.
