Odd Startup issue - LT10S

So i have been having this issue since i purchased the car with the LT10S already installed. on cold starts, the car runs like absolute crap, it hits a fuel cut wall at around 2-2500rpm's. i can rev it up to 3-5k rpm's during this time and it will drive fine. now this all goes away once the oil temps get up to normal running temperatures and the car runs great.

Logged into it the system and didnt see anything funny other than that my RPM's are jumping all over the place during this time and the SHIFT indicator is coming on.

anyone know whats going on? cant figure out why the RPM's are all over the place ONLY when the engine is cold.

any help is appreciated. even my tuner is stumped.

What is your AFR like during this time? Did you look at and try adjusting you water temp map in this region to see if there was any improvement?

not sure, I don't have a wideband in the car so ill have to check when I go back on the dyno. what function does the water temp map do? assuming it makes adjustments based on what your water temp is?

Thx for the help

Yeah, that is exactly what it does. It adds or subtracts full by that percentage at that temperature range to your regular map. This helps with the warm of up the car especially. The trend is normally running more fuel the colder it is and tapering off to zero at the 82 degrees.

i’ll look into that but i have a feeling its unrelated, because that wouldnt explain why my rev counter is jumping all over the place during this “cold” time and hitting rev limiter at 2k rpm

If it is dumping fuel then it will out the spark and prevent it from revving out. So it may still be it, but it could be something else all together as you said.

What you can do on is post up your water map so we can take a look see. I'm no expert but something may jump out at someone. At what temps does it run rough ?

You can also connect to the ecu with the laptop or handset, select the temp maps, start the car when cold and watch when the car is moving up the temp intervals on the ecu and see how it behaves as marker goes up the correction table.

Take special note if that as soon as it canges over to new correction cell it clears up.
