no trailing spark...

i have no trailing spark.... dont know why either.... the coils are getting power, but the microtech is not grounding them to fire... i believe that the wire is intact and connected, but i havent COMPLETELY retraced it to the ecu yet. is there anything in the program itself that would cause this?

Is it getting no trailing spark while it's running?

If you are using the stock tach, is it reading rpm incorrectly?

If you answered yes to both questions, go into the handcontroller or laptop and scroll to the screen for ignition trigger. It should be maz+.

is there spark when the car isnt running??? haha. no spark when running, but there is 12v power to the coils..

the rpms are off by maybe 200RPM

Is this a fresh install or not?

not a fresh install on coils. engine, yes though.

having the same problem you guys but i cant figure out how to find the maz+ or ignition trigger. my car is breaking up the ignition at about 3 to 3500 rpm and its pissing me off lol

dean23 11-02-07 09:17 PM

3-3500 stumble is mostly likey a different problem, and i still havent sorted this out.. and i never did see any maz+

dean23 12-16-07 11:55 PM

still no trailing.. im completely stumped on this (as is my tuner). coils work fine, i tested them in leading position, and are getting a constant source of power. The only thing that makes sense to me is that the microtech isnt grounding them. i traced the wires and they seem fine. the microtech steeing seem in order also.. i really dont know where to go to next. im installing a newish hybrid ( something around a GT28 comp with S5 hotside) and want to be able to boost with a clean ignition...

I have a similar problem....I am making a new thread....

Get your handset out.
Press the up button till you get to the setup screen. it is the one below the Option screen which will say Opt_mixtrm so if you see this, go back one down.

You will then press the left button until you see sparktrig and it will have maz+ or -NEG.

If its not on maz+ put it on.

dean23 03-21-08 12:12 PM

well i thought i had this all figured out, but i guess not.

back to the beginning. leading works fine. trailing does not spark at all. its getting power to both posts (aftermarket coils, the ones that come with the lt10s i believe), not spark though. sparktrig is +

rx72c 03-22-08 07:12 PM

In that case id say the computer has something burnt inside it. How sure are you that the computer isnt triggering the ignitor?
the ignitor could be bad as well

can you plug in a spare coil pack/ignitor.

dean23 03-23-08 09:37 PM

i checked both posts of the coil and they both have 12+v going to them while the car is running. so it would make sense that they were being triggered. to me atleast. im going to try to swap coils with the leading and see what that does.

rx72c 03-24-08 01:23 AM

Obviously both posts of the coil will show 12v.

While the car was running was one of them flashing?

Probably not.
You have to find out whether its the microtech or the ignitor thats stopping it from firing.
