No spark on Microtech. Please any input.

Hey guys I am sorry this is not for an RX-7 but I am almost positive you guys would know something about this. This is for a 1990 mitsubishi Eclipse with a Microtech LT8 ECU which was 4 MSD Coils. Anyways recently the car started running on 3 cylinders, So my friend replaced the coil for cylinder 4, and there is still no spark on it. So after that I hooked up a test light to the plug coming out of the harness plugging into the Coils. What I noticed and it makes sense is that when you are cranking the car and the test light is plugged into one of the wires that actually is working, the light pulsates which makes sense. But when I plug the light into the wire that is for coil number 4 and put the car in the on position the light just turns on and stays on, there is no pulse whatsoever.

Now my question is my friend tested the coil before and said it was messed up and he bought another one. I have never dealt with a standalone, so I am curious is there some "fail safe" inside the Microtech ECU that just grounds the wire permanently when it reads that the coil is bad, or is my friends ECU fried?

I am just helping my friend out with this car and this is the best forum I could find with Microtech knowledge.

Thanks for any help guys I really appreciate it!

Or if you guys could point me to a good microtech forum, I haven't found a working one yet.
