next stage of learning

So, last summer I've ported, and rebuild my engine, had a good time learning and working on the engine. Well this winter, my project is going to be buying/installing a microtech lt10 and installing a T04E, fuel system ect. The fuel/turbo installed is not going to be a problem, but I would like to know if there's some how-to/diagram of how is everything get prep and installed. I tried searching but couldn't find anything of what I'm looking for.
Thanks guys

Have you already purchased the Microtech? If not, buy another ECU instead, such as the Haltech Platinum 1000 or Haltech Spring RE. Better ECU, and much better documentation.

If you have already purchased the Microtech, then the full manual with step by step wiring is available on the Microtech website.

no I haven't bought one yet, I'll be in the market for one in the fall. Can I use any of the haltec you recommend with a 20b. (my 2 yr plan)

The Sport 2000 will run a 3 rotor.

One more thing Aaron and thanks for help. Is there any cons to haltech over microtech. I know you have used both ems. Reason I'm asking is because I few people have told me (they all used microtech) that haltech was a buggy system. While microtech is simple and fulll proof. This true? Can think of a better person to ask this question to, since you've used both.
Thanks again

people use microtech cause its cheap and works and has decent 'rotary support'

Cons of microtech is that nearly every adition to it involved sending it to australia to be flashed or what have you, that and its using tech from early 90s.

New megaquirt systems are more advanced...

I would recommend going with whatever your nearest/chosen tuner tunes with/speacialises with.

ive used and tuned both,, microtech is able to be installed and roughly tuned by idiots,, and thats why you have so many telling you to go that way

anybody can work out a TRS-80 or commodore 64 right?

they are still full of bugs,, qwerky in their own logic,, and rather limited in advanced applications ,, just like the TRS-80 or C64

now ,, even a superceded haltech,, like an E8/E11,, is like comparing a windows XP machine to the C64

-- sure its a whole new learning curve
( learning to do shit the correct way without cheap shortcuts )
but the potential of the end use is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much higher

the microtech has taken the idiot out of the equation and done the IG setup for you

the haltech is much more complex in being universally built to adapt to any ignition setup in any vehicle
and that means the setup is up to you,, and how well that works depends on just how well you apply your brains

the haltech is in fact much better in every respect,, but the added complexity scares many home installers
-- however documentation,, unlike the micro,, is extensive,, and more than enough for the average joe to get the thing working,, and working well

microtech is a cheap, limited, badly built toy in comparison
home built modern mega squirts are approaching it for capability ,, and likely surpassing it in build quality and reliability

-- and thats before we compare the factory level of spares, sales and support between haltech and microtech

something,, that even if you live in aus
( where both systems are designed and originated )
with a micro you will have a hard time with turn around repairs for fails that simply shouldn't have happened
- and pay and wait lots for upgrades that should have been provided free,, new

microtech is for idiots,, their best product is far behind the already redundant offers from competitors
ie
no PC downloadable maps and upgrades
no closed loop lambda
no closed loop boost control or idle control ( that works well )
shit map definition,, all fixed plots with missing bin zones
--- just for starters

even if you want IG cuts ,, or datalogging ,, pay extra,, and wait awhile

if your tuner can only do microtechs,, thats telling you something,, and its not good

if just looking at the basic specifications hasnt sold you to a haltech already
then maybe you should just use the google
and find out just how many times those crap X box ignitions fail
and how many excuses the factory still gives them
and how much and how long it takes to get a replacement

Thanks a lot, I'm sold, moving on to the haltech forum.
