N/A or non-intercooled?
 

Ok, one of my old threads kind of led up to this, but no one responded to it.

Should I run my car in n/a form for a few miles to the place where im going to get the IC installed, or should I make a pipe from the turbo to the elbow, running the car non-intercooled?

non-intercoold but don't boost?

NA would be getting a N/A header and stuff, and that's too much work.

N/A meaning the turbo is on there, but its in no way plumbed into the intake

The only problem with not plumbing it into the intake is if you get on the gas hard, you might overspin it and break the carbon seal in the turbo. With it non intercooled you would just have to watch the boost. Either way will work, its up to you.

Yeah, I definately dont want to kill the turbo. Thats why I got the non-intercooled idea.

If you're that worried about it, just have it towed. Small price to pay for not blowing something up.

You should run it non-intercoolad and drive it sensibly (i.e. minimal boost, no WOT) until the IC is fitted. If you leave the turbo out of the intake tract it'll still be spun by the exhaust. Capping the compressor inlet and outlet is bad for it, and leaving it open would be just as bad.

Well my cousin got his car hauler running, and his we got the frame fixed on his trailer. So either way its not going to be driven. :D
