Got some of the ECU wired. Injectors, water temp, and TPS. Still need to do power, CAS, coils and fuel pump relay.

Any my input switch. Either the DASH unit, or a 9 pin (for the laptop or hand controller) mounted by the stereo.

off topic: What are you using for injectors?

Looks good! :) I wired a LT8 into a friend's T2 with his Friday night.. didn't take to long and it started right up after we were done :)

Im using the stock 4-550s.

Im off to do some more wiring.

Looks good man. glad to see im not the only one routing the harness just above the downpipe. We'll have to see in a few years.

Well, my downpipe is jet hot coated and im wrapping it with header wrap tape, so I think it will be cool.

A quick description of my path. I think it works well.

Before I placed anything in its final place, I pulled the fuel pump wires, and ign on, out of the loom all the way at the plug. I Wanted them ran inside the car. Youll see the pink wires for the fuel pump/ign on are the same wire once you pull it out, so it would be smarter to run the ign in the car instead of making it do a 180 back to the engine bay.

You'll see, with the ECU in the same location as stock, that the corregated covering will extend all the way to the center of the firewall.

From here I sent the TPS, CAS, Injectors, and water temp wires forward. They all stopped behind the alternator, and went their seperate ways. Injectors go right, and come back, water temp goes forward, and CAS and TPS go left.

The rest of the wires continued across the firewall, where I pulled out the air temp right before the brake booster, and made a notch for it in the loom so it wouldnt cut it up. The coil, and power wires continued across, went behind the brake booster (above the lip in the firewall), and went down under the trailing coil.

I pulled out the two wires for the trailing coil, notched the harness, and spliced them in.

Heres where I had to extend the leading coil wire, and the power wires. I ran them under the trailing coil, and around the shock tower near the bracket that holds onto the spark plug wires. I used a leftover piece of grey wire to extend the last grey wire that goes to the leading coil. I used wire the same size as the power leads in their respective colors to extend them.


I wrapped all of the wire (past the tubing already on there) with electrical tape, and split loom tubing available at the automotive store. I took apart what connectors I would, and soldered them to the pins, and soldered the wires as close as I could to the plugs when I couldnt dissasemble them.
