Microtech and what wideband?

What wideband do you guys prefer? I have an LTX-8 on a 2nd gen and will purchase a wb02 in the next few days. I'm looking for reliability and ease of use.

TIA

I use an LTX8 and a techedge W/B AFR both work great, I personaly would not run a rotary with out them , blew two engines into the next county using other types of EMS. thanks RON

anyone using the zeitronix wb with their microtech?

1sgen Mar 17, 2005 12:01 AM

can you get the ltx8 to see the readings out of the wb for data logging and how do you hook it up?

dr.jones63 Mar 29, 2005 12:35 PM

Im new to microtech and I have the same question as 1sgen.

Arvika Mar 29, 2005 01:39 PM

I'm buying a Zeitronix...

FC_mania Mar 29, 2005 09:41 PM

well i thought the LT8s doesnt have a wideband input for datalogging?

can someone confirm this?

There is a Black/red wire in the Microtech LT8 harness marked Oxygen sensor!

Trav Mar 30, 2005 12:00 PM

Come on guys... if you search this, you'll find all sorts of info!!!

LT8 (& LTX8) does NOT have a WB input (0-5v). It only has a NB input (0-1v). Now some guys are trying to get around this by using a WB sensor/controller that has a NB output and hooking that into the NB input on the LT8. I think some guys are having some success at that, but have mentioned that it's not extremely accurate like a true WB signal would be. My theory here is that you need a true linear 0-1v signal to feed the LT8 to get anything accurate.

If you want true WB datalogging, you're going to have to upwards of the LT8 (or LTX8).

btw, Search! :D

The LT12 series is enable for wideband. The LT8 is not. The problem (as Trav stated) is coverting the signal to narrowband. In other words with the Microtech parameters . (0v =9AFR and 1v=18afr). However, these parameters can be programed by Microtech. Expect to spend about $300 when all is done .

Arvika Mar 30, 2005 03:11 PM

Lt10 ?

dr.jones63 Apr 1, 2005 03:25 PM

In theory a resistor could work.

0v=9AFR and 1v=18afr
0v through resistor = 0v = 9AFR and 5v through resistor = 1v=18afr

You could get a laptop with 2 serial ports and run a inovative in one window and microtech in another.

MrSparkle Apr 1, 2005 09:18 PM

^that's what i'm going to do with a zeitronix

Yes, but the idea is to have it all logged in one "data log" (Microtech's).

dr.jones63 Apr 2, 2005 08:31 PM

I was thinking of getting a WB probe and running it to a PLX converter ($35) and then to the microtech NB input. PLX states the converter is only for use with a PLX WB controller. So I just bit the bullet and ordered the zeitronix.

Whats the advantage of wideband ? Sorry fellas im old school straight Holley man and bridgeport, just trying to learn about all this other stuff since i have a TII now.

puntorotary Apr 23, 2005 09:04 PM

does the LT 10 have have datalogging?
