microtech for my superchager
the stock ecu isnt cutting it, any info that people may have on microtech would be greatly taken!!!!!

Why dont you try fixing your car first? You told me in PM that your idle was too high and car was dying on decell, right? Well... You have a big ass vac leak is what it sounds like. When you removed the vac rack and all emissions (I'm assuming the vac rack was removed for this, or was it?) did you make sure to PLUG every single nipple that was no longer being used? If you didnt you might have quite a few that were left open and are causing your problems. It is not the ECU, it is something else that unless addressed and fixed wont change with a microtech.

What sort of info do you want?
Personally I wouldn´t even run the stock ECU with some sort of non-stock application, like a supercharged setup. Are you using the n/a ECU or a turbo one? |
ive checked all the vacums three times already no leaks, im at a loss, the only thing that my mechanic and i have come to is that its the ecu , it runs great just cant get the idle to stay at one point, beleave me ive checked every thing i can think of dealing with the ilde.

Timing might be the problem... maybe. But only problem is you need the idle to be at 750 to set the timing properly.

what i noticed is that setting the idle with the throttle cable since the idle screw doesnt have enough range to kick the idle up that high can throw the tps/ decel dashpot off, today im going to adjust mine and see if that helps. also i have to figure out the timing as well, which has to be set to tdc or 5 deg retarded at idle (~750) how im going to figure that out idling at 1500 defys me

Setting your idle higher with the throttle cable is the most butt-fuckingest worst ways to do it. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TIGHTEN THE THROTTLE CABLE TO INCREASE IDLE. Yes the throttle stop screw is two small, solution? Take the stud/nut out, go to LOWES with the nut, get a new bolt that fits this (same thread pattern) that is longer and get another nut too, put the nut on the bolt, tighten the bolt down to where the idle is what you want, then tighten the nut that is on the bolt down to the idle stop bracket so it's tight. Problem solved and now you can adjust it more.

besides i have to check if my throttle stop screw rests on anything... i seem to recall it not doing anything. |
its bad to adjust idle with the throttle cable if ur a wussy, but ya replacing the screw is a better way to do it

That the camden intake?

ill try to use the throttle stop today to set the idle.. how much slack is typical on a throttle cable. the problem is that to use the throttle bracket on the camden you need to remove/loosen the bolts on the throttle cable, and even if you manage not to move thewm at all, the cable bracket is not in the exact same position. how loose does one want the cable

FSM says there should be 1-3mm of play in the linkage.
