Microtech and MSD DIS4
 

I was wondering is it possible to use one box strictly for the front rotor and the other for the rear rotor. For example one box would trigger both the front rotor leading and trailing coils and the other box fire the rear rotor leading and trailing coils.

Using channel one for the trailing coil and channel 3 for leading on each of the boxes and run no wastespark on the Microtech. That way if something were to go wrong with the box or something not wired right I could tell right away which box it would be because each Dis box is dedicated to only one rotor.

Why dont you get dynatek boxes and coils and you can do this. Run one box per coil

Because I already have the boxes and was told it could be done but have never seen anyone set it up that way. Just wondering if it is possible with the DIS4 boxes. Thank you again for any information.

What are dynatek boxes? Sorry for my ignorance, but can you enlighten me on this ignition.

i have heard of similar setups with other ECU's
you would have to be sure that you have a fully sequential LTX or LTS that has individual leading igniters ( and wire colours ) for true sequential ignition

and not one of the lesser ones with only 3 igniters ( like digi2 pro plus )
as these waste-spark leading

yes you can use 1 for the leadings and 1 for the trailings

I was actually asking if you can use one DIS box for the front rotor and the other DIS box for the rear rotor. I contacted MSD and their techs said it is possible to wire it in this manner. And I also spoke with a friend that has wired it up this way and it works perfect. Pretty straight forward on the wiring. You just use ch1 to trigger the trailing of one of the rotors and use ch3 of the same box to trigger the leading of the same rotor. You do that to each rotor, one DIS box per rotor, and run no wastespark. Also make sure that you ground the unused channels on the DIS boxes. This can only be done with DIS4 boxes.
