Microtech ltx8 on piston motor good or bad? Please help.

I have been researching the microtech units for a while they seem to have everything I need for my 91 mr2 turbo. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with using these units on a piston motor. I plan on purchasing one within the next 2 months. I have read as much as I can on these ecu's but most of what I have read applies to rotary engines. I do run my car at the drag strip and want to get into autocross and road racing, I also drive the car on the street a lot. Will the ecu be suited for this. How will it idle? Will it run smoothly once tuned properly? Im just loooking for some links, oppinions, personal experiences, etc.

Thanks in advance Adam Akers

Hey, if it runs, a Microtech will control it! ;)

Microtechs run boingers very well. In fact, Tony Rigoli's 11-second WRX runs an LT8 quite well. We'll have an LT8 on an SR20DET and 4G63 in a matter of days, so we'll have firsthand experience. Our cohorts in Australia inform us that everything from V-twin bikes to the highest-HP V8 Down Under use them, tho. :)

Idle and cruising can be as good or better than the stock ecu depending on tuning, which is very easy with a wide band. You'll get that thing going in no time.

i have fitted more microtechs to piston motors then i have to rotors,

they run the 4agze and 3sgte better than anything avaliable, they really give the 4age a kick in the butt,

sr20's are not a problem they work perfectly,

Brandon,

tony rigolis wrx runs 10.01 to be exact,
