microtech lt8s / dynatek ARC-2 ignition HELP
ok i have been looking for info on this setup every where but there is little to none on it so im trying to reach out to people that have this setup running.
i have a microtech lt8s no x4 box ecu im trying to run a dynatek ARC-2 ignition to the OEM leading coil. but im not having any luck getting them to fire up. were im lost on this is the microtech has a one wire signal for the leading that used the oem ignighter from the stock leading coil to split the signal and fire the leads. now with the ARC-2 there are 2 signal's in's and 2 signal's out to coils.. what do i need to do to split this signal? is there anybody who can walk me threw on the wiring of this. this is the only Manual i have to go with - http://www.schnitzracing.com/manuals/ARC-2.pdf |

do you have any info you could share on going about hooking them up it would be great |
you have to wire the dynatek up in series as a wasted spark ignition if you do not have the microtech X4 ignition box(factory ignition LT8s). positive to negative off one coil to the next leaving you with one positive output and one negative input on each coil left over to wire up as you would a single coil.
after that you have to set the dynatek to "coil with driver". this step made no sense to me because even with basic coils it would not fire before switching to this setting, reverse of what should be true since these are "dumb" coils. (this is also not documented anywhere so i had to try it, risking damaging the CDI unit/coils) now that that is behind us, if you are using it with the intent on using the 2 step launch limiter you will need another box for the trailings, this is a split ignition system vehicle so if the leadings are limited the trailings will still be firing normally as the limiter is interal in the CDI controlling just the portion of ignition it is wired to. |
